I've always liked Sush. She's not just a pretty face, she is very articulate...can converse very well in BOTH Hindi and English and seems like an intelligent woman. Plus she's got this wonderful aura about her and seems so comfortable just being herself. And I have always thought that Sush is a talented actress but she has selected the wrong type of roles. She has tried her hand at different kind of roles but it has never really worked out. Trying to do different roles doesn't automatically mean that you have chosen a good role. Most of the films that I have seen her in are often half baked movies. Luck is also a factor and sadly it hasn't been shining on her filmi career. Having said that, she always seems happy and I doubt she cares a hoot about her film failures. I think everyone pretty much nailed it here. She is too tall and also looks older than most of the guys. She only looks good with SRK. Even with Sallu she looked odd to me. I reckon the first (shudda specified) bold part was mostly her problem but there's an odd sort of charming relationship between her and Salman, they sorta work in an odd way for me.

But mostly she only gets work now in David Dhawan movies, with Salman or Anil or Govinda, those seem to be her only connections or the only ones that she gets work from.

Either way, she's an alrightish actress, better than alot out there and even if she wasn't commerically successful, I believe she's still quite liked and admired otherwise?

Because she doesn't deserve to. She is not some supremely talented actress who can hold onto herself despite of not having a good Box Office revenue to her credit (Tabu, Konkona). She is not moderately talented either; she is definitely not better than Aishwariya by any standard. She didn't suck up to the Khans, KJo, Chopra and other camps (Rani, Kajol, Preity, Priyanka). She doesn't have a very well known surname either (Kapoor, Mukherjee). Some mentioned her film choices had been crappy and that she should have done better films...but was she ever offered any decent film, let alone a great one, barring maybe MHN? I really don't see that because frankly, she doesn't excel in any department. Her looks are pretty average too in my opinion. Winning a Pageant title doesn't mean one has to have great looks; they are based more on talent than looks. I don't know about others, but I find her extremely awkward (though a dignified person). And she doesn't fall under the definition of feminine beauty with her high cheekbones and all.

Even Bipasha Basu and Amrita Rao - who are miles ahead of Sushmita in the acting department - couldn't reach the top, toh Sushmita kya cheez hain. 😆

i don't agree that she did not use her connections... everyone does, and she is no exception... main hoon na with SRK, because she was good friends with him... and she still gets movies mostly with Salman to date, because she is good friends with him...!

I love Sush dont know why she didnt make it to the top 😭 but I still like her more than Ash 😛
