No, she shouldn't get nominated. I don't think she was brilliant in Rajneeti anyway so overrated. She has a long way to go and even if she was nominated I would just pray she doesn't win because she needs to improve and she needs to be known for her acting not dancing and looking at Tees Maar Khan well we know what she's trying to achieve.

She hasn't performed exceedingly well throughout any of her films and I don't know how well she did in New York but I would never nominate her, actresses like Kareena and Priyanka deserve to be nominated because they perform amazingly well whereas Katrina sometimes is in another planet lol.

Hmm interesting topic Hetal! =) In all honesty I do not think she should be nominated for Rajneeti. Please don't get me wrong though. she did brilliantly in the film. I'm not a Katrina fan, but that is one movie I appreciated her in. She was really good! However, I felt that she didn't have enough screen time and Ranbir dominated the film more. So on that basis I don't think its fair to nominate her when other actresses had a greater role in their movies.

Awards are just for pure entertainment. Being nominated and winning does not really prove anything. You only gain recognition for your work. It isn't necessary for someone to win an award to prove that they were amazing! I'm sure Katrina was appreciated for her work in Rajneeti during that time. And she def was recognized. She doesn't need an award to prove that she was good! Same goes to every other actor, actress, etc. I'm highly split when it comes to awards. I think its a nice way to recognize talent, but at the same time I feel that all the stars have been working so hard with their films (regardless if the movies were hits or flops). They ALL need to be recognized. Not just a particular set of 5 or 6. But now that our world has started to really accept all these award functions and stuff nothing will be changed. Someone not being nominated for a category doesn't mean that their work was not appreciated! Neither is being nominated showing encouragement to the stars. You shouldn't be relying on awards to boost up your confidence level anyways. If you get yourself into this industry you should know what you're going to face. Some people are going to love you while others simply are not! If you love acting then you should keep doing what you love without worrying about one award! Awards seldom hold any meaning if you are passionate, dedicated, and committed to your work. I mean aren't you in the industry because of your pure love and talent for acting, singing, or whatever it may be?! If a movie has done very well at the box office you should be proud of yourself and that itself should be boosting up your confidence level and encouraging you to work harder. NOT SOME STUPID AWARD! And if your film didn't do so well at the box office that shouldn't put you down. You should take that in good stride and challenge your critics and make a huge comeback! The awards are just there for fun and recognizing the talent in the industry, but that doesn't mean if you're not nominated you weren't good enough!

Of course she should be nominated! If Kareena Kapoor can be nominated for 3 Idiots than of coruse Katrina should be nominated! I think she was fantastic in Raajneeti. Another step towards a better actress. She's just improving by each movie and I'm sure one year she'll win an award!

Awards or nominations should not be given just because for sympathy or encourgement or whater one wants to call it. And when Kat is concerned, she do not need awards or nominations because of encourgement etc. she already gets that when audience loves her movies thats the most important thing for any actor in my opinion.

Kareena had much more screen time in her film. Katrina rarely had any. Its not fair to nominate her when other actresses clearly had a much greater role. I personally didn't like Kareena in 3 Idiots. I felt that had another actress portrayed the role, it would have been better. But Kareena was given that role and the audience has learned to accept it that way. I do have to say though that 3 Idiots one of Kareena's strongest movies till date! Re read my very first post in this topic about awards! It says a lot about how I feel about these awards! You don't earn fame and recognition simply by winning and award!

When i saw the promo of Rajneeti i really had expectation from Katrina. i thought she might beat all the odds and must be brilliant at it but it didn't go the way i was expecting so i don't think so. she worked hard on her looks and try to change the body language and all which was required but overall it wasn't upto the mark so i don't think she can be nominated as best actress category but hoping one day she does very well and get nominated and wins it. there is lot of improvement in her performance.

PS. though by just getting award doesn't prove you're better or excellent, getting recognition from masses and critics is much better than getting awards i really find awards stupid now to be frank its biased & baseless just my POV.
