I think because she is a good actress! And also versatile! She might not nail them all performance wise (dhoom 2 anyone? ), but I think she has way more good performances than bad ones! I only recall Dhoom 2 and Bride and Prejudice as her not so impressive performances! She aslo not soo good in comedy films! But her good performances are endless! Even from beg of her career, Loved her in Taal, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Josh, Hamara Dil Aapke Paas hai ect. She is def talented! And can be really really good when she gets good script and good directors and works hard!

Another factor is that she has a huge fan following! She is talented! She can dance lol! I love her dances! She like Maduri of this generation when it comes to dancing skills!

It's what I feel also works for her. Not just what works for her. But also. 😊

So her movie's flop but usually (well of late) her performances have been appreciated, which is a good accomplishment, or atleast I think so. She's been making some script choices and things are working in her favour.

The journalist really needs to get his facts straight. And go back to grade school.

😕 That's 3 films. And last time I checked, Devdas and Mohabbatein and were huge hits and Khakee did well too.

But yes, she has had a shocking amount of flops and has still emerged as the highest-paying actress. I'm not sure what to attribute this to and as Phoenix_of_Hades said, I don't think there's just one factor contributing to her success. She's gorgeous, she CAN act, she's had the opportunity to work with some great directors and she has a huge fan following (a lot of which are men). I mean, the hysteria she created with Kajra Re is enough proof that this girl can pull in the masses.

^^ Devdas wasn't a big hit.. due to its hugeee budget.. mohobettein also wasn't a big hit.. it was above average or a semi-hit... khakhee was a flop for sure.

About Ash.. she adds good glamour quotient to bollywood..and is pretty relevant in social scene in bolly.. and she has backing of big names behind her.. and big big endoresments..so i don't think the movies matter that much.. boxoffice or even critical response..

^I'm pretty sure both Mohabbatein and Devdas were hits. Khakee was average, which in no way translates into a flop.

i loved it too!! Plus Martin Henderson...so gorgeous!!! yeah lensa..tell us, what didn't you like about her performance!!!😆

No Just kidding!!! But agree her comic timing is off sometimes!! But love her and loved the movie so much!!!

actually mohabbatein was a blockbuster and khakee was average! devdas i thought was a hit, but i guess the budget thing could be correct, but the last i checked it was a hit also!
