it is easy to make films like housefull and reap money---but after they have dun their substantial business----they are almost forgotten, where else if u make a movie like dil se or bombay it is a more enriching experience and even though it might flop it will still be remembered as a 'good film'

for instance take guru and housefull for example----both are hits---i think-but guru will be always remembered as a far superior film!!
and movies wid great scripts and great execution ends up doing really well not only in terms of money but also in terms of accolades, how many awards do u think housefull will get??----the answer is none!!!!
conclusion: therefore peeps shud make a good movie like dil se or guru instead of housefull---as it is more enriching, it gets acknowledged as good cinema and wins itself accolades!!! but raavn cums in the third category: it is neither good cinema---as it has no scirpt, the acting is bad, it does not move u or make u think, nor it is entertaining! so yes a film like raavan shud have the fate of being a flop!!! i am really glad that mani has stopped being subserviant to the bachchan family and has decided to cast a hero who cud actually act this time!!

so so true......totally my thoughts.....just hate the mindless movies......they are not even comedy or entertaining..........

I actually happen to watch my favorite comedy movies like millions of times.

We always talk about actors being funny at comedies. I think Kajol is really great at comedy

I just had a question.... I see OSO being mention here. Is it being called mindless because the hero and heroin dies and come back again which is not a true a story. Well I guess you hate bollywood than if you think that way because thousands of old movies used to be like that whether it was Karan Arjun with srk and salman, Or sridevi with rishi kapoor Or hamesha with saif-Kajol.... and so many other movies where the hero-heroin dies and comes back in the second half of the movie

I think the obvious point is that people don't appreciate serious and ground-breaking cinema and rather watch brainless masala films! I mean I remember when Awarapan came out...great reviews(But I don't like Indian critics...it seems like they suck up to favorites) but the film flopped b/c it was TOO dark and serious for Indian audience! And then there's films like Partner and SIK and APKJK that to so well! I personally found these the latter films much much much too boring than Raavan, Awarapan, Firaaq, Dil, Swades! I thought Housefull was funny, but I alos think films that aren't made for mainstream audiences and aren't commercial films should be equally appreciateed and what sucks is that come award season only commercial successes are appreciated! Films should strictly be nominated on level of writing, performances, etc. NOT on commercial success!!

personally preferences! The film was slow, but I love VIkram and Ash's performance! I found the Tamil version to be way better! Vikram is truly a fantastic actor...w/out him I don't think i would have liked the film!

But serious movies do get notice and have hits. How many times did Urmila won best actress for her serious roles? many many times that's the answer. I'm a huge fan of hers and I did follow her career. Her serious movies are what she's known and got success from
