Deepika's rocking it
It's been so long (in Bollywood time) since Deepika's and Ranbir's break-up that now people have stopped talking about it. Deepika's latest release Karthik Calling Karthik is more in the news than her former relationship.
Deepika stars in the movie with Farhan Akhtar. She spoke about the film and the gossip about her love life.
"I am an actress and I know my job well," she said, "I was OK when people were talking about my break-up, but how can anyone link me with Farhan? He is a married man and happily living with his wife. I have great chemistry with my co-stars, but I don't socialize with them."
She continues, "Farhan and I had a great time while working for KCK, but we didn't meet after we finished shooting unless it was at promotional events. The same was true with Abhishek. We had a great time in Goa for Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se, but we didn't meet after we returned to Mumbai. I suppose we will again meet when will do the rest of shooting ."
Talking about her future films, she adds "I have become quite choosy with scripts. This year I signed three films: one each with Ashutosh Gowariker, Pradeep Sarkar and Danish Aslam. My volume of work is dictated entirely by the quality of work that is offered to me."
"Ashutosh is one director from whom I learnt a lot; he is so sorted out and clear-headed. He knows what he wants in each shot. Pradeep Sarkar, I met a few times, and I loved the way he narrated the script. He is really a sweet guy with lots of imagination. I am working with him in Yash Raj's project, which I have to start shooting soon," says Deepika.
Deepika will be working full-time in 2010, and she feels lucky that she has so many releases. "I guess I have five releases this year if everything is done that needs to be. I am shooting till July for my pending projects and then will sign for 2011."
