saw it on tv..they said tht the film dropped heavily in second and now its uncertain..whether it can sustain a 'hit' status..if it continues to drop further chances it might fall in the above average category

My Name is Khan's collections drop drastically

Shahrukh Khan's My Name is Khan witnessed a wonderful opening, thanks to the publicity given by the Shiv Sena. It earned Rs.90.2 crore in the opening week but its collections have dropped drastically this week.

Amit Awasthi, Manager of Spice Cinemas, said that the ticket sales of My Name is Khan has fallen from 30 percent on Wednesday to 20 percent on Thursday. He added that lack of entertainment elements must be the cause of the fall in its demand.

A source from PVR cinemas said that the occupancy has fallen from 90 percent to 50 percent on Monday. Delhi-based distributor Joginder Mahajan also said that there has been a drastic fall in the ticket sales of MNIK after Monday due to lack of entertainment elements and mass appeal, which today's youngsters want. He added that it is a repeat of Kurbaan.

However, Yogesh Raizada, corporate head of Wave Cinemas, thinks that the film is doing decent business and would pick up again in the weekend.

My Name is Khan got rave reviews from the critics. It is a love story set against the backdrop of racial discrimination post 9/11. Karan Johar brings the incredible reel couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol after eight long years through this film.

yeah thats the truth.....people are not loving the movie here in india...they are calling it koi mil gaya part 2...i havent seen the movie but can't comment...but defintely what i saw on tv tht it has dropped badly...NONE OF KJO's movie dropped so heavily in the second week

for your kind ifnormation there is a huge diffrence btw kurbaan and mnik i liked kurbaan a lot but i loved mnik b'coz only srk knows how to deal with such an sensitive issue wityh love and he did that and now mnik grossed 1.50 crore in 11 days that's the power of KHAN😊

What rubbish.
I went to watch the movie on weekend and all shows were full. Even after doing the bookings in a day advance we could get the middle rows only. Considering that this is the worst time to release a movie (exam season) MNIK is doing good business. If this movie would have released in Summer or winter vacation the collections would have beaten any other movie.

its all bullshit ..... firstly its not koi mil gaya part 2... and comparing srk kajol movie with koi mil gaya is nothing but stupidity.. as mnik is much better than koi mil gaya.. . . . .secondly MNIK is not a hit.. . . its a blockbuster for sure... in 11 days it has grossed 150 crores.. . . lets see what happens next

MNIK rocks all the way, and regarding Aamir n SRK, Amir might be a better actor, so it's sad to see that how everytime SRK's FF gets bigger n bigger😳frustrating for amir for sure😭

But i love both! SRK a bit more🥱
