Ameesha-Kanav split

Reports are rife that the relationship between Ameesha Patel and Kanav Puri has indeed gone down the drain.
The main reason for the break up is Ameesha's reluctance to commit to Kanav. He's been proposing marriage to her for some time now. Every time Ameesha would say no, citing the reason that she wanted to pay more attention to her career (she has two movies Run Bhola Run with Govinda and Chatur Singh Two Star with Sanjay Dutt).
Buzz is that Kanav popped the question to Ameesha on her birthday in Junelast year, only to be disappointed by her refusal. "Kanav is pretty heartbroken. The chap thought that Ameesha who would gush about him on any given occasion would not refuse the proposal. But she did and the reason she gave was that she wants to focus on her career. Such a lame excuse was a bit too much for him to handle." says a source close to Kanav.
An angry friend of Kanav says, "Ameesha is a user. When she was desperate and lonely and had no one to go to, she was more than happy to be Kanav's arm candy. She would visit Kanav's parents and tell them that they were her only family. She even gave them the impression that she was serious about Kanav and wanted to eventually settle down with him. But, the minute she patched up with her parents and brother, she changed her stance. You see how selfish she is? When she was lonely and felt a void inside her, she went the extra mile to be with Kanav. But now with her parents by her side, she has dropped him like a hot potato."
Apparently Ameesha and Kanav have been having problems for a few months now. In fact there were times when both didn't talk to each other for long stretches altogether. They are still not on talking terms.
Ameesha's sudden focus on her career comes after she has patched up with her mother Asha Patel. A source says, "Asha is a very ambitious mother. She definitely wouldn't want Ameesha to settle down so soon. After all they have just patched up and she would like her daughter to earn as much money as she possibly can while she is still in the running.
"Ameesha had broken off all ties with her parents and even took them to court claiming they had swindled her. She had moved in with Vikram Bhatt at the time and felt he would give her a great break in films. When she found that Vikram was not interested in promoting her career she felt disillusioned and left him.
"That's when she started going around with Kanav and made him the centre of her life, speaking about her love for him, giving out details of her travels with him and the gifts he showered on her. All said and done, losing Kanav would be Ameesha's big loss.
"And Ameesha should really think twice about it when actresses like Priyanka, Kareena and Katrina are ruling. Ameesha should take a leaf out of Shilpa's book' she gave up on her non-existent career and settled for marriage with a man who could afford her an extravagant lifestyle."
