Aamir, Rahman to receive Padma Bhushan; Padma Shree for Rekha, Saif

It's the height of award season with Bollywood actors being showered with recognition from all the fronts, the latest being the actors Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan.

Following the National Awards that were recently announced, Bollywood Hungama has now learnt that Bollywood's 'Mr. Perfectionist' Aamir Khan has been awarded the Padma Bhushan. The actor will be awarded with the same on the 60th Republic Day celebration for his outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema.

Besides Aamir, music maestros A. R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraja have also been awarded with the Padma Bhushan.

If that wasn't enough, the ageless diva Rekha, chotte nawab Saif Ali Khan and celebrated sound engineer Resul Pokutty have been awarded the Padma Shree for their significant contribution to cinema.

Also, yesteryear actress Zohra Sehgal will be honoured with the Padma Vibhushan.

The awards will be presented to the winners on Republic Day tomorrow.

@karanshergill Oh Lord. Don't you ever forget what date it is sometimes. I forgot tomorrow was 26th Jan. Not that 26th is Republic Day.

Anyway, I just found out that Rekha also got Padma Shri this year. Something about that isn't right. Rekha and Saif getting the same honour on the same day. She deserved something higher.

Ok when I heard about Saif getting Padam Shri the first thing that came to my miond was "Is his mother on the jury: Comeon he gets aNAtional Award for Hum TUM... and then he gets Padam Shri for what? Like Rajeev Masand said "are these national awards biscuits".... What has Saif done on his career graph of 14 or so years....give 5 hits. There ar emore deserving people out there to get these awards but now it seems - BUYING awarsd are more prevelant than EARNING awards..... Nice when Dhoni did not go to get the awards.....It shows what these awards are in the recent years.... Rekha getting it with Saif....BAD. I think Katrina Kaif was more deserving than Saif. She has given so many hits and her career graph has been the steep climb on the top. Sorry guys but this is the funniest news I have heard....

What has Saif done to deserve Padmashree which is supposed to be one of the most prestigious awards in India.

These awards are being handed out like biscuits these days.

Saif ..........for what???? but its ok atleast he has more and bigger hits to his credit than aishwarya rai bacchan who got it last year ................and as for rekha atleast she has got it ...imagine an actor like dharam ji has not even got one....
