Star Screen created a special category for Katrina

Says a source, "When Katrina came to the venue, she learnt that Kareena Kapoor was getting the Best Actress award (Popular) for 3 Idiots. Although she was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in New York (Critics' Choice), Vidya beat her to it for Paa. It is learnt that she was miffed at being left out because, after all, she had the most hits in 2009."

Finally, the organisers (the Morani brothers) and the publishing house behind the award decided to give her an award. Word is, that they decided to create a special category for her -- the best entertainer of the year -- and was presented the award before her act. When the award was announced, she came out of her van, accepted it and returned to her van. She didn't sit in with the rest of the starry guests that evening."

Mohommed Morani says, "I have no idea what happened. I was there to only coordinate Katrina's performance. Screen can best answer this question."

Deserving

Sandeep Khosla of Screen says, "It's true we created an award for Katrina but this was decided by the Screen jury. We had a special award to Katrina her for the three hits -- New York, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, De Dana Dan -- that she had last year and the jury thought she deserved it. Katrina didn't insist or ask for any award. Nor did she throw any tantrums. She came and performed according to her commitment."

LOL,Salman isn't friends with Moranis.They just organise shows.Salman performed and got paid.He never sits in the audience nor does he ever walk the red carpet.He just performs n leaves.

Katrina definitely deserved an award for her contribution to bollywood cinema in 2009.She entertained millions and earned a great deal for the industry.👍🏼.She was good in all her 3 films.

Now media is going about how she snatched the awards rather than getting it for her capability...Comeon she got it so let her enjoy it...

I refuse to believe that Salman did not have any hand in it....but there are others who do the same...nothing wrong,,

PS: Is there a wards for MAximum hits then WHY Akki was not given that. He has given more than 11 hits in three years...
