Where is Imran Khan nowadays? Imran Khan may have vowed audiences in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na but the actor's recent career decisions has Imran going back to doing what he does best.
Imran left women swooning with his chocolate boy looks and sincere acting in Abbas Tyrewala's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. Uncle Aamir made sure that Imran was here to stay and went over the board promoting his favourite nephew in B-town. However the brooding Imran had other things in mind and didn't want to get typecast in a certain category of the mushy romantic actors list. Imran had signed Sanjay Gadhvi's dud Kidnap even before Jaane Tu… but it was on maamu Aamir's insistence that he went ahead with Jaane Tu as his debut.
After the mega success of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the disaster that was Kidnap came as a major road bump in Imran's newly launched film career. A source close to the actor says, "After the negative response that Kidnap received Aamir was adamant that Imran stick with a romcom for his next. But Imran had already signed onto Soham Shah's Luck and felt the multi-cast along with the action genre would grab the audiences attention. I remember vividly during the screening of the film, Imran had no face to show and was saying to himself, 'what was I thinking?!' Both Ranbir and Imran had several discussions, some about their film together and the others when Ranbir advised him to do a romantic genre for his next. This being the reason behind him signing on to Karan Johar's I hate luv storys with Sonam for his next."
The source further adds, "Aamir even advised Imran that he could experiment as much as he'd want to once he's created a firm base for himself in Bollywood. Imran is a very down to earth guy and is pretty much of a recluse like Aamir. He doesn't go around town attending every event there is as he would rather spend time with Avantikka and his close friends." Imran is at moment shooting for I hate luv story and tweets regularly giving updates of the film saying, 'Shooting an absolutely hilarious scene today... And it's the kind of dry, subtle humour I love!' 'Long day, but it's not done yet. Prepping for a really heavy scene. One of my 'money' scenes. Fingers crossed.' The film directed by Punit Malhotra releases May/ June next year. Imran even got engaged to his long time sweetheart Avantikka Malik and is planning on tying the knot next year.
When we contacted him, all he was willing to say was that he is too busy with new work to even talk about it. To which he quips that he is infact twittering to keep the world informed about him. Clearly an indication that he wants to keep a reticent approach to media till the film is out to roll on the screen.
