^ a lot of desis think it is "cool" to say they don't know how to cook or have never cooked their whole life... specially the new immigrants

we have had some family who came from my dad's pind come over for dinner once and the lady was like "i don't even know how to boil an egg or make cup of tea" blah blah... and me and my mom/sister were sitting there thinking "yeah sure your I.Q. must be really high if you can't even figure that out"

they somehow think they're showing how wealthy they are in their home town by saying stuff like that

I fully agree with you dear they are bragging about that they cannot cook beacuse to show the aam janta that they have chefs to do their cooking and Butlers to serve them on the dinner table !! Other wise ask a normal person they cannot say things like that !! Those who have to pick up a bag and to to the shops and buy things and then come home and cook !!

About your guests saying she cannot even boil an egg is just a show off at hosts house to say something like that and somethimes it vise versa too and say they are very good cooks and donot know even how much salt goes into a masala !! Some people have habits to saying these things !! some men do very nice cooking !!
