Technology-savvy couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone believe in gifting each other stuff in pairs

Like all young lovers, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor are constantly lavishing each other with surprise. But what they do differently is: they buy everything in twos. If Deepika likes something, and gets it for herself, she gets the same thing for him too. And vice versa for Ranbir.

Recently Ranbir gifted her a BB -- an identical model of the one he bought for himself.



In competition
Says a source close to the couple, "Deepika and Ranbir and tech-savvy and keep upgrading their computers, phones, iPods etc. Whenever Ranbir shows her a new gadget, she tells him 10 new things she has already figured about it. At times, they are like small children squabbling over who knows more about which gadget. Both are always competing with each other to gift the other the latest gizmo in the market."

Mera gift?
Discloses the source, "Last year Deepika gifted Ranbir a compact laptop which was light and easy to carry. The next day he bought an identical laptop for her and sent it to her home! Two days ago, she bought him a 17-inch notebook on his birthday and now she's expecting the same thing from him soon."

Deepika keeps upgrading her laptops and gadgets as she feels communication is very important in today's times and one shouldn't lag behind in the latest technology. "Her parents had bought her a computer when she was in the 4th standard which she shared with her family. She got her first laptop on her 20th birthday."

Apart from the gift, Deepika also arranged for a small surprise party for Ranbir and his friends and family at the Dome restaurant on Marine Drive. "Ranbir doesn't like lavish or grand parties but intimate dinners with close family and friends which Deepika too likes so she had arranged that for him."

When quizzed about her gift to Ranbir Deepika says, "These things are too personal to talk about."

Fashion queen
Recently Deepika was awarded the Fashion Icon Of The Year at an awards finction last week. She says, "It came as a pleasant surprise. I got to know that I was getting it a few days before. It's a great thing as it was not a regular film industry award like the debut or youth awards I have been getting. The awards were for people from all fields."

Deepika Padukone proved to be the perfect girlfriend when she threw a surprise party for Ranbir. He is also the proud owner of a brand new laptop. We don't know if money can buy love, but it sure can make a boyfriend happy! Deepika organised the party to bring in his birthday on Sunday when he came back from Bhopal. Deepika invited few, but very close friends to the surprise dinner.

Our source said, "Deepika took Ranbir to a suburban restaurant on Sunday night on the pretext of having dinner.

She had already called some of Ranbir's very close friends, which included Rohit Dhawan and Ayan Mukherjee, the director of Wake Up Sid. Ranbir, who is normally not a party animal, was pleased to see them and a couple of his old school friends. They had dinner and brought in his birthday. Ranbir was extremely thrilled."

Deepika's present of a sleek and high-end laptop was thoughtful as she is aware of Ranbir being net-savvy. Ranbir loved the gift and was seen checking the features immediately. The source added, "On his birthday on Monday, Ranbir also saw the first trial of his film, Wake Up Sid with Deepika and his parents."
