Shikhar - a right beginning?

Publicity of long awaited flick from John Mathew Matthan - Shikhar - has begun and one wonders if it has kick-started on a thunderous note?

Everyone believed that a movie from the 'Sarfarosh' director would be yet another hard-hitting flick with high drama. Also the initial set of promos would showcase the theme of the movie and give a glimpse to the viewer about what next is in store from this Ajay Devgan-Shahid Kapoor-Bipasha Basu-Amrita Rao starrer.

But instead the makers have opted to go the conventional route by airing song'n'dance sequences beginning with a track featuring Ajay-Shahid-Bipasha making merry in a night club. Result is that there is a threat of the flick getting lost in the avalanche of other high profile products like Family, N3, Ek Ajnabee, Apaharan, Bluffmaster, VLHTS, Mr. Ya Miss and many more that have instead chose to begin with teasers and talkie promo and hence established their theme rather than going the routine way.
