Yeah I think it is was with Ahista Ahista that Abhay really found his zone.

Love the taxi scene as well. I also thought Viren's relationship with his his Bhabhi (can't remember the name) was also sort of new in the whole family movie realm.

This is one of my favorite recent romantic comedies. I love the dialogues and I liked the interactions between the families too. And it still happens to be my favorite IMLI film, and it still feels fresh on repeated viewings. One of the cuter scenes is when Abhay walks out with Ayesha out of the building and then they get into the taxi, and he does not really acknowledge that they are running off together, and he just tells the driver to keep going.
Yes, I also do think Ahista Ahista is underrated. Unfortunately, I did not see the original telefilm. But even though the film version was quite slow in pacing, I thought it was a very touching tale, and I did not mind the ending thought it did come out of nowhere and left me with a lump in my throat. Abhay Deol was much better in that film than he was in SNT where I thought Ayesha did a better job.
lol even that scene when they both come back frm goa and he meets ayesha to talk abt karen, he hugs ayesha and his bro sees him that was hilarious 😆 😆

So now I have to order Ahista Ahista from Netflix....'
SNT was like s breeze of fresh air. You coul relate to it, How Abhay was attracted to the "Most popular" girl concept and then realizes that the friend is the one. Girl who ca be your best friend is theone for you.
I loved Abhay...I can compare him to Guru dutt just becasue I felt that he has this innicence and the passion at the same time....

Wasn't that an adaptation of White Nights, like Saawariya?

I loved SNT and Ayesha's character, loved their candid dialogues the first time they met, with Aditi exclaiming, 'Mujhe sau jhute marna pasand hai' or something of the sort. The dialogues in that movie were my favourite after a really long time.

ahista ahista is also good but star best seller is surely better than a movie, whole story in that one hour episode , superb direction by imtiaz

Is that 'The Witness', that just came on not too long back on Star Plus, though made way back in 1999. Personally I thought JWM had a lot of resemblance to the 'The Witness' barring the sad ending.

Yeah..you are right. It was initial attraction wearing off after he met a girl who was more his type. Karen was nice too but there was lot of ifference between the two. Karen was the one with whom he fell in love for how she looked. But with Ayesha everything felt in place for him.
