NEW RELEASES ON SINGLE SCREENS FROM JULY By Eye TV India Bureau In the News
Our Mumbai bureau informs us that the talks, which had been going on for the past ten days ended in a deadlock as the two parties could not come to a consensus over the issue of revenue sharing which is the bone of contention between the two. The meeting was held at Yashraj Studios and was attended by representatives of national multiplex chains like PVR, INOX and Cinemax while Mukesh Bhatt, Yash Chopra, UTV and Indian films represented the side of the producers. You may recall that the strike was announced on Friday, April 4, a day after Akshay's movie '8x10 Tasveer' was released. Since it flopped, the producer of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor - starrer 'Kambakkht Ishq', which was earlier slated for a May-end release, is very eager to release it at the earliest. Industry circles have welcomed the producers' move to release big movies from July onwards. They are eagerly awaiting to release major blockbusters, mega-budget and big star cast movies so that the industry heaves a sigh of relief in an already depressed market. |
