If the promos of ALOO CHAAT indicate some good on screen chemistry between Aftab Shivdasani and Aamna Shariff then credit director Robby Grewal for that. At least this is what Aamna wants her audience to believe since she sincerely feels that without Robby's effort; the results wouldn't have been half as effective as they appear on screen.
''I had never met Aftab before the shooting of ALOO CHAAT so I was of course a little wary. Moreover, it was my first feature film as well'', remembers Aamna who has been a known face on TV, ''This is why Robby suggested that we get together in a workshop and get to know each other better.''
In a workshop that lasted for around 5 days, Robby made sure that he got the vibes right for this family film. He wanted a natural chemistry between the two actors and put in an extra effort to put them both at ease.
CHECK OUT: Aamna is professional and so is any other newcomer
''When you have to work in a film where the two characters are shown to be totally in love, it is difficult to get the emotions right if you don't know the person at all. Any wrong step and it will all look forced. So we had to be careful about our scenes together. For this, credit must go to both Robby and Aftab as they made me feel so comfortable.''
Working in close quarters with her co-star helped to such an extent that her very first shot for the film was for a romantic scene. There were hardly any surprises in store as it turned out to be a perfect first take.
Smiles Aamna, ''We all were very nervous but we pulled it off. Everyone around us was very happy about the great chemistry on display. It only made us feel much more confident about shooting for the rest of the film.''
