you are talking about these days but in 80s women freedom was not big social issue and not even today in India. She had to stay back because she had no other choice. Jaya was and is nothing without AB. Whatever she is considered today is only because AB is treated as god. personally this woman has very sharp tongue and I don't see her very affectionate person. Though Rekha and Hemamalini spoiled their lives for married men.

well Jaya is nothing without AB is a wrong statement cause when they got married she was a bigger star than him and he was a nobody..

Unlike Rekha-Hema Malini at least got legally married to dharmendra(they both converted to islam cause he was already married) though he still lives with his 1st wife..

and i had earlier posted it was rekha who walked past AB first when they had just arrived for the filmfare award so I guess AB just did the same.

I think you have got that other way around. Jaya was way ahead in her career than amitabh. She was a very well known and made her debut with Satyajit Ray. Amitabh really does owe lot of early career to his wife and Dharmendra who got him parts in lots of movies. Jaya was at her best when she left the movies, sort of like Kajol. She married him back when he was way less known than her. He became quite popular after their marriage. Had she stayed in movies, she might have given even greater movies considering she has only done about perhaps 30 movies at the most.

And why do we have to blame the women always? I don't agree that what Rekha and Hema did was right but aren't the men the bigger culprits here? They have responsiblity towards their wives and kids and yet they had affairs. Yet it is the women we see as the serpets who lured the poor men away with their vile ways.

Enough said, I am done trying to prove my point on this post!

Arey don't you know now a days chapdasi's in India have high tech cell phones then what is a measely suit, anyone can rent one from a nearby cleaners😆 After all Abhi is a bachchan and is a very modern chapdasi usse kuch toh izzat ka liyaz karna hoga😆

They make the most beautiful couple on-screen and i'm sure that deep inside Rekha still admires AB senior. Maybe he doesn't but she does and it takes alot of courage to do what she did.

Rekha and Mr. Bachchan still generate the kind of enthusiasm which no pair can. They will always be remembered together and sadly Jaya Bachchan can't do anything about it.
