Much as we would like to lay old ghosts to rest, they keep rising up and grabbing our eyeballs.
Rekha hugs Ash...
More Pictures

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha have spawned a million stories, some on film and some in real life. But what happened on the evening of Feb 28 at the 54th Idea Filmfare Awards is a story in pictures.

At the end of the function Rekha stood and greeted SRK who acknowledged it with a bow. She moved on to Abhishek Bachchan next. The bonhomie was obvious as she kissed his cheek. She then warmly hugged the Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya. She was just about to disengage from Ash and greet the person sitting last on the row ' Amitabh. There was a minute of suspense, as the media waited for a photo-op of a lifetime. But... Before Rekha could turn his way, Amitabh got up, and walked away.

^^ This scene reminds me of a kiddie song from yesteryear;
Chuppa chuppi yeh chuppi aagad baagad jaye reh, Choohey maamaa, oh maamaa bhag billi ayi reh.
Billi boli meow kahey ghabarao, main toh chali Kaashi gaaley mil jao 😉

But yes I am facinated by the story of Big B & Rekha. And how Rekha till today also is in love with him. In today's world love is so shallow....look at Rekha with all that sindoor and peecha karna.....😉

I did put a comment on his bolg asking why did he do that with Rekha? Let's see if they show my comment or not?

Jaya stayed and she won. Her husband came back to her and they are living happily togather with thier family.

Lovanika, like you said opinions will differ. Just because people share different views from you doesn't mean that they are wrong. While you might appreciate Jaya's reasoning to stay back, some people don't believe in it. I personally would not want to be with someone who has cheated on me because how can I ever trust them again?
However, the bigger problem here is that quote you put up there by Dimple. It's quite ironic coming from Dimple who left her crappy husband and moved onto greener pastures and possibly a happier life. But why are Twinkle or Jaya supposed to be so happy about being the "chosen" ones? The whole idea of "oh you know even after being with so many girls, he picked you to be the one" makes me sick. I guess my big problem is with the idea that women are supposed to sacrifice everything and wait for that perfect man who can do no wrong.
How many times have you heard of a bollywood actress cheating and her husband waiting for her to come back for the sake of marriage? Never! None of those men would do that. Yet a women is expected to feel happy that at the end of the day her man came back to her even after cheating on her. That just does not sit well with me. And I think that is the problem that most people have with the whole Jaya-Amitabh-Rekha triangle. The fact that she sacrificed her great career and everything for him, he cheated on her and yet she is supposed to be this great faithful wife.

Lovanika, personally I'll try to avoid your posts from now on because you seem like a Phyliss Schlafly follower. Nothing wrong with that as long as you don't force down your beliefs on others.
Anyways, why the heck should a woman accept a cheater? And I'm not just saying this. I've actually done it My boyfriend of 3 years had a one night stand with this chick he met at work. He came to me and apolozised. What did I do? I kicked him to the curb because that's what he deserves. Do I love him stil? Yes. Does it hurt? Yes. . Do I want him back? Yes. Will I take him back? Hell No. Do I deserve him ?! Hell to the gazillion times No!
No person man or woman deserves a cheater. I mean NO ONE, not even my worst enemy! The problem with your mentality is that most Indian women think like you. They think men can do whatever they want as long as they foot the bill and don't leave them permanently. Why the hell should men do anything they want and still be able to get away with it? This is a sad, sad belief. A woman is not a second class citizen. She deserves the same respect a man does and if a man cannot appreciate a woman, then she needs to dump that jerk right away! There are plenty of better fish in the sea!

A few years back I remember reading someplace that although Jaya and Amitabh publicly portray the married couple, in private they live in separate houses on the same large lot, and Abhishek lives with Jaya. I will post the link if I can find it. The article was written by a reputable journalist and not some fly-by-night gossip mongering, dirt flinging journalist.
