I saw it; it's fine. Nice actually!! Tells you what most of the people are really like in our society. And how naive people get taken for a ride because of society's crap!!!!

Fortunately for us and unfortunately for the stars, the audience has become more discerning which is why films with non-starrers like Rock On go on to become hits and films with umpteen item numbers like Billu are flops. Me thinks SRK needs to find a different marketing ploy now. The item number thingie has become old

exactly audiences r not fools...
i liked the fil through but i cant call it abig hit or sumething

^^yes surely, he should learn from akshay, perhaps how to edit movies and give himself the better scenes or maybe he shouldn't have done a 35 minute in TOTALITY role in a movie whose main actor is IRFAN khan while the so called extended special appearance is what gets the brickbats.since maybe he isnt insecure..yes surely he should be like akshay whose chandni chowk to china was totally senseless and a BIG FLOP compared to his rab ne banadi jodi that was a blockbuster(source: boxofficeindia.com)
hmmm I wonder if hrithik will get any criticism at all for staring in Luck By Chance(a film with unknown stars again just like rock on)

[QUOTE=Zareena]Billu Grosses 13.50 Crore Over Weekend

Monday 16th February 2009 10.00 IST
Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Billu grossed 13.50 crore over the weekend. The film managed to do better on Saturday and Sunday after a dull Friday. The Monday collections will decide the fate of the film.

It seems to be heading for first week business of 20 crore nett but if Monday can sustain well the collections could go higher, normal weekday drops will mean around 20 crore at the end of the week.

Box Office report: Billu fails to pull crowd

Shah Rukh's Billu, despite a good pickup on the weekend, is proving to be a loss making proposition. The other two releases of the week - The Stoneman Murders and Jugaad both have failed to make a mark at the ticket window.

Box Office Collections

SRK's home production Billu had got a poor opening on Friday in the range of 35-40 per cent. A better response was seen at smaller centres and single screens than the multiplexes on the opening day. Billu's total net collections for day ended up being around Rs 3.50 crore.

On the weekend however, there was good rise in its collections everywhere which saved the film from being a disaster.

JANTA VERDICT: Billu

The opening weekend occupancy rose to around 70-80 per cent and the film succeeded in grossing around Rs 13 crore net from the opening weekend. The opening weekend collections from major multiplex players for Billu were - PVR - 75 per cent, Fun Cinemas 70 per cent, BIG 70-80 per cent, Cinemax 75-80 per cent, Spice – 70-75 per cent and G-7 80per cent.

REVIEW: Billu

But then again there has been a heavy drop in today i.e. Monday's collections all over which spells problem for the film.

Amongst the other two releases, The Stoneman Murders garnered good reviews but those didn't translate into good box office returns. Jugaad on the other hand was a complete washout with shows cancelled at almost every centre on opening day and even Saturday.

Be ignorant abt it and watch it . Its a simple movie and I just loved it !
