It's really sad to hear such words from jagjith singhji.

The current Bollywood keep their head up only because of A.R rahman. Where was bollywood music from 85s to 96?? whats was the outcome in these period?? It was dead after the Era of greats like Noushad sir, R.D.Bji,Lakshmikant pyrilalji, Trio singers Rafi saheb-Kishore da-Lataji.

Jagjit singhji is a better singer on ghazal version of music.He's not a singer with par excellence. Is he versatile? he's succesful only because of his moody, pain ful voice.We likeed that always! Ghulah Ali, Mehdi Hasan, even our hariharan sir are better singer than him when it comes to the basic real music. It is to be noted that Ghazals are a small form of music.

There are many forms of music when internationally concerned. Where ever in nature you can find the music. The nature itself is music. Find or invent these and put in and synchronize in a way to ear able and hummable fashion can be regarded as the music. Rahman has achieved to deliver many forms of Music, Melody, Trendy, Hip hop, Sufi, Sufi Rock, Fast, Karnatic/Hindustani Raaga based songs, patriotic, western, opera kind of, very traditional folks, Very traditional rend links to small casts and small regions.etc. etc. ..he used a wide range of instruments in his albums, he must be a great listener he still add so many newly invented instruments to his….(his songs gives the examples for the above)

He made Indian Music to a readable or Understanding form to the International Listeners.

So please do not criticize such a maestro who made India proud.
