I thought this man was much more dignified than this. Where is the nazahkath and tehzeeb that is associated with a Ghazal singer - all he has managed to do is show the world how shallow he is . He has failed himself as a true ghazal singer.

I've grown up listening to Jagjit Singh's ghazals and have always appreciated his work. However, he has on a couple of occasions, said some really silly things. So this isn't the first time that Jagjit Singh has made a ridiculous comment.

Why should he be jealous of AR Rahman? Jagjit is a legend in his own right. In fact, Jagjit should be proud of Rahman's achievements and should be celebrating it. I fail to understand what is wrong with these pple. Why can they not be happy for each other and appreciate good work? And even if Rahman doesn't compose ghazals, it's not the end of the world!! Everyone has a forte and if Rahman can't do it, that does not make him less of an artist. Rahman is the real deal and a very humble guy.

ohh come on. it is his opinion!! he is a famous celebrity and he is a public figure , so watever he says wil make news..

i personally am nt at all fond of ARR's music . exception his first two movies , then taal and one or two films.. i just dnt like his type of music .

bt does it matter , whether i like or not ? he is considered gr888 musician and loved by millions of ppl. similarly , if jagjit singh doesnt like ARR's composition , he is entitled to say so , may b ARR's genre of music doesnt excite him?..

everybody is nt bound to like ARR !! so i dnt get the accusations ppl r saying that he is jealous and all.
