First and For Most, This is the best thing ever. Everything is done at the best. yay yay yay...
dyslexia disorder was not properly stated in the film. The film was more about ma and son relationship. I have tired to find examples in the film that explains the dyslexia disorder but where in the world was the disorder. It was pruely manipulative film. I still cannot believe that film was so many awards even the kid's acting wasn't even great. He was being the same. Maybe he should learn some acting from film school or experinece around the film industry. I have one more to say, I know it's easy to say that but if they protrayed the disorder better and no melo-dramatic scene would have been better. Aamir Deserves this after not giving the book " Thank You, Mr. Falker," any credits. Hope someone sues him.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duh. That's no surprise. It was a good start for Bollywood....but it was still light years away from what Hollywood considers, "award worthy" movie (for the most part).

I say for the most part, because I'd like to know which pot smoking jury member's decision it was to put Tom Cruise's name (for tropic thunder) in the best suporting actor nominations.🤢
Most overrated actor in the history of mankind. The only reason he exists is because women from the 80s still drool over him.🤢

TZP was no great shakes, and sure it wasn't the most accurate portrayal of dyslexia. But it was alot better than alot of other things that year. Paruthiveeran was awesome, a Tamil film, but it is hard for a non-Hindi film to get picked by the jury. Great film, and our best hope for an Oscar really is hitting a subject that is more indigenous to India whether it is a social or political thing. Vishal Bhardawaj is our best hope in that regard.

I am so happy to see Slumdog Millionaire here. IMHO, it is very deserving and probably one of the best films I have seen in the last two years. Glad my gal pals and I decided to watch this over Twilight. Of the nominations I have only seen six films, and one of them included Pineapple Express in an empty theater with my best friend. What that says about me is pretty pathetic.

P.S. Flaviya, I don't think I know anyone, who drools over Tom Cruise anymore including the over 40 crowd. He has done a good job freaking everybody out on Oprah. XOMG (Xenu Oh My God), have you heard about how Katie Holmes talk about how she found him hot when she was a kid and now she is married and has children with him? Awkward! And then I watching The Hills aftershow cause I was really really bored, and I saw him giving Spencer advice on not forcing marraige onto Heidi, waiting until she was ready to get married. Ironic, no, considering that is exactly what he did as Katie's parents were against him too.

well that might have been cuz it was so cliched...i mean you could tell that everything was going to be okay blah blah
and the part where aamir teaches him was so rushed
it was touching but def not one of the greatest works of cinema

TZP was a good film, but not great. If it focused more on the disorder then there would actually be a chance of the movie being nominated. But Bollywood has a long way to go before it reaches the standards of Hollywood. Romantic dramas and comedies can't be nominated as great films just because they have box office success. Awards should go to films with great acting, great story, great direction, and overall great and unique concept!
BTW: I think Tom Cruise is handsome, he used to be sexy, but not anymore. He's definitely talented and it's his choice who he wants to marry. He married someone he loves and is happy with, so what if she's younger! Demi Moore married Ashton Kutcher, despite the age difference and even had a baby with him! It's all about love!

Cruise giving advice to Spencer? Woah......that must have been one helluva advice session.
Apparently the advice did not work, last I heard....they eloped....😆
And Tom Cruise needs to be packed off to a distant island with his scientology cult never to be found again. The only time I could ever stand his presence was when he played vampire Lestat in, An Interview with the vampire......thats saying a lot. 😆
He's deffo overrated while actors like Edward Norton and Christian Bale are so darn underrated. It makes me sooooo mad!
P:S: Oh and I'm happy slumdog millionaire got nominated. BTW, I'm also jealous you got to watch it (definitely a good pick over twilight)......theatres over here are not showing it....so annoying...I've been dying to watch that movie.😛

LOL tropic thunder was great. Downey Jr. is good. but Tom Cruise as best supporting actor for TT is bad. It was so hard to notice him in the film. Pineapple express, I'm glad James F. is nominated. He is FUNNY in the film but Oscars are still joke! lmao

I liked the first half only! The 2nd half just went too BW. I am not surprised it didn't get picked. It really was not of that category.
