Dev D is a 2008 Romantic Drama film written and directed Anurag Kashyap as a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel Devdas.

Devdas (Abhay Deol) is the son of a zamindar (tax collector). He and Paro {Mahi Gill) are childhood sweethearts. Differences in status and caste prevent their marriage. Devdas is sent to Calcutta while Paro is married off to a rich but aged widower. In Calcutta Devdas meets the prostitute Chandramukhi (Kalki) but remorse drives him to excesses

and yes the trailor looks way way better than those other two movies. I think finally there is a movie worth looking forward to this year.
