Big B goes green on Day 1

The 10th International Indian Film Awards kicked off in Macau in grand style this morning. International pop star Peter Andre, hosts Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Ritiesh Deshmukh, Bachchans – Ash, Abhishek and the Big B as well as most of B-Town are currently enjoying the hospitality at the Venetian Macau Resort Hotel.

But in case you aren't there this weekend, worry not, because Star Box Office will bring you the entire lowdown from Macau right here!

Big B's greenathon continues!

IIFA's brand ambassador, Amitabh Bachchan, arrived just a few hours before the opening press conference this morning. Looking tired the superstar got down to business right away. A quick change, some photographs with fans and the star was ready to roll. And just like quite a few previous IIFAs, this one too ended with Bachchan planting a sapling. He did last year in Bangkok and this year too, the actor planted a lotus sapling. (But what about all the carbon emissions these fancy jets give out on their way to the award ceremony?) Tch, tch.

Talk of the Town

Traditionally a Bollywood film is premiered at the IIFAs but this year things are different. This year day one will end with a performance by the mind boggling and enthralling Cirque du Soleil. Promoting their green cause, the superstars will be coming out in all their finery to walk the green carpet after which the Cirque Du Soleil will perform. But while the show is definitely the talk of the town, sadly most invitees weren't sure how to pronounce the name!
