KBC News - SRK has special guests on the show tonight

Shah Rukh invites children from the Cancer Association.

Shah Rukh has some very special guests that he personally invited to the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati – kids from the Cancer Association. A group of children attended the recording of tonight's episode and also got to meet the star. From clicking photographs with SRK to singing for him, the children had a fun filled day.

Arriving on the sets in the morning, they first met Khan who had gifts for each of them. Thereafter they all decided to sing for him. It surely was a moving moment for everyone present to see the innocent kids put up smiles on seeing Khan even though many of them were quite unwell. Khan himself seemed very emotional at the end of the meeting.

Thereafter they were taken to the floors to enjoy the recording. Shah Rukh says this is a very special show for him. "I was very happy to have these children here. If I have given them a reason to smile then I consider myself blessed. But more than them I consider myself to be a happy man today. I pray to Allah that they all recover very fast and continue to live healthy fulfilling lives," says Khan who has a huge fan following amongst children.

At the end of the day all the children seemed very satisfied as they got to see their favourite actor in person. Here's hoping the smile on their faces never fades...

KBC News - FFF contestants get lucky!

FFF contestants win big in a lucky one off.

Last night the FFF contestants on the show were in for a big surprise. Hyundai Santro and KBC decided to make their day extra special and gifted each of them a Santro car. So for those who made it through the millions of participated and reached the show, it was a day to rejoice and forget about not making it to the Hot Seat.

Once the hooter went off to signal the end of the show, Shah Rukh reached the moment that he had been hinting of during the entire hour. He invited the remaining nine FFF contestants including Ravindra Gautam who had crashed earlier on the show, to the center of the stage.

Announcing that all of them would be given boxes of which only one of them would contain a key to a Santro, SRK heightened the tension. Slowly he had the first then the second then the third contestant and to all their pleasure all three had keys to a car. And slowly but surely the rest of them present also opened their boxes to find keys to their very own Santro cars.

"I am so happy. I was so disappointed to not reach the Hot Seat but now I feel so good," says one FFF contestant from Calcutta. Another contestant says he has managed to fulfill his wish without getting to the Hot Seat. "My daughter is very fond of driving but I wasn't in a position to buy one for her. I had promised her that if I win on KBC, I would get her a car and when I didn't reach the Hot Seat I was very disappointed. But now... to get the car... I can't tell you how much this means to me."

Looks like KBC means it when it says ek sawal aapki zindagi badal sakta hain!

KBC News - SRK on a gifting spree!

SRK and Hyundai gift Santro cars to FFF contestants.

First it was watches. Then it was autographed cricket bats. And now it's cars. It sure looks like Shah Rukh is taking the KBC tag line – ek sawaal aapki zindagi badal sakta hain - to the limit. Last night Shah Rukh Khan, along with Hyundai motors gifted the Fastest Finger First contestants Santro cars – a first ever on Indian television.

Let's hear the explanation behind it directly from the man of the day. "Many a times the entire team sits and discusses that the FFF contestants are all quite capable as they have made it through lakhs and millions of people and made it up to here. And sometimes a day goes by where they don't even get introduced on the show. And you feel bad for them. Its just one question that separates you on that day."

"So Hyundai Santro decided that they would do something special for them. And I think it's quite large hearted of them to do that. They decided that they would give a car to every FFF contestant," explains Shah Rukh.

"This is actually a way of celebrating the spirit of the nine or ten FFF contestants who don't make it on the Hot Seat. So all the hundreds of them who haven't made it... we decided to sort of celebrate that and salute them. And so we said 'ok in this one episode we will give each of them a Santro car' which I think is something that has never been done before on Indian television. So it's a big thing!" says an excited Khan.

KBC News - Neither Sanjay nor Boman prepared for KBC!

SRK brings an unprepared Munnabhai duo for a KBC special.

Shah Rukh Khan has yet another KBC Special up his sleeve. Tomorrow he plans to share the stage with none other than the Munnabhai heroes – Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt. Shah Rukh is very excited to have the two playing KBC with him but what about Boman and Sanjay?

KBClive spoke to the duo about their preparations for the show to be aired tomorrow. Sanjay says Munna doesn't need to do any studying. "I think Shah Rukh has to do all the preparations. I just need the answers!"

Sanjay's partner, Boman, adds he's a bit nervous as he has been shooting and therefore hasn't had the time to do any preparation at all. "I have honestly had no time to brush up on my GK... I was shooting in London for my movie Goal. And Shah Rukh called up and said can you come? And I have come in a kind of an emergency... I came in last night and I'm leaving tonight... I've been flying for a longer period of time than I have been in Bombay. So I don't think I've prepared that much but I like to think I'm not that big a duffer either. So let's see how it goes."

The duo also has a lot of surprises in store for the audiences. From singing to air guitar moments coupled with the Munnabhai humour, the show is sure to leave the audience in splits.

KBC News - Shah Rukh was the only person who could do KBC, says Sanjay

Sanjay Dutt speaks to KBClive on KBC, SRK and his preparations for the show.

Shah Rukh will be playing host to one of his earliest friends – Sanjay Dutt - from the film industry on KBC tomorrow night. And apart from the fact that both of them enjoy a huge fan following and a long list of hits, the biggest common denominator between the two is the generosity and warmth that's an integral part of both their personalities.

Therefore it's no wonder that Sanjay has a glorious review to give for his friend's performance on KBC. "He's doing extremely well. And it's so warm and so nice. I think he was the only person who could handle KBC."

Sanjay feels one of the biggest factors contributing to Khan's success is his interaction and warmth with his audience and contestants. "You got to interact with the audience. You got to make them comfortable I think. You've got to be really loving, kind and have fun and stuff like that," says the star that's as famous as SRK for the very same qualities.

"Yeah, I am such a warm person. And I'm going to be so warm that Shah Rukh is going to give me all the answers," says the naughty Munnabhai.

"I think Shah Rukh has to do all the preparations. I just need the answers. I think that's why Munna is on KBC today. There is a lot of warmth... I mean I have really enjoyed KBC with Shah Rukh. And I think we'll have fun today," signs off Sanjay as he poses for pictures with a group of students from the Columbia Business School.

KBC News - "Lage Raho Shah Rukh", says Boman

Boman Irani says SRK has completely charmed him.

Shah Rukh can add another name – that of Boman Irani - to his ever growing list of fans. Boman who will be on the show tonight with Sanjay Dutt for a KBC special says he has been watching the show since it's been on air.

"Well only all the time. I am completely charmed by it just like the rest of the country because I find the wit and the casualness very enjoyable. I genuinely think that it's Shah Rukh doing what he knows best – dealing with people who he loves very much and I think we are all very proud of the way he actually reaches out to people. I think what makes Shah Rukh is the fact that there is no put on for camera. There is no difference from what he is in real life. He is like that with me or maybe even his best of friends and he is like that in front of the camera on KBC. That's Shah Rukh for you!" says Irani who was accompanied with his mother, wife and son to the show.

Boman who was on a four month shooting schedule for his movie Goal in London came back to India especially for the shoot. "I have honestly had no time to brush up on my GK... I was shooting in London for my movie. And Shah Rukh called up and said can you come? And I have come in a kind of... like an emergency. I came in last night and I'm leaving tonight... I've been flying for a longer period of time than I have been in Bombay. So I don't think I've prepared that much but I don't think I'm that big a duffer either. So let's see how it goes."

Irani adds that he finds a lot of similarities between his Munnabhai movies and what is happening here on KBC. "What Munnabhai MBBS did was make simple minds come up with great big thoughts and wisdom and in Lage Rahon Munnabhai it was the simple tenets of bapu which I feel the people have taken so kindly and accepted it with open arms and said this is the India we know and this is the India I think bapu would have hoped we lived in and not 50 years down the line another completely new India which I think I'm afraid we were moving in the direction. And I think KBC is quite similar too. It gives people the platform to use their intelligence and make their lives better."

KBC News - "I am so moved by the entire experience", says Boman Irani

Boman talks about being on KBC.

Boman Irani is a happy man after having won 50 lakhs with his partner Sanjay Dutt. Speaking to KBClive right after wrapping up the evening, Boman says the trip to India especially for the show was well worth it!

"What can I say...I am so moved by the entire experience. I think Shah Rukh's approach to it is so genuine, so warm, so fun-filled and still so emotional. I think the audience was also wonderful. We had a lovely audience," says Boman who flew down for the show in the midst of his shooting schedule for Goal in London.

Boman plans to donate his share of winnings to the Don Bosco Centre for Street Children. He says he is quite happy with the way things turned out for him. "I think we didn't play too badly either. I think we should be proud of how we played. Sanju and I gelled together like we always do... I think we gelled well together to put on a great show."

But it didn't come easy for the duo.

"I was really nervous at one point. Was really scared... white...I think I should have gone for that Corus answer. I thought it was too simple so let's complicate it. And I went and complicated it... but we didn't do too badly," says Boman.

Boman wants to advise the upcoming contestants on the show. "Be calm. Like in anything you do... if your heart goes dhum dhum dhum just take a deep breath. Have faith. Be calm. Search within you and you can't go wrong!

Well there you have it – words of wisdom from someone who has won 50 lakhs!

KBC News - The week that was...

Catch up on all the action from week ten only on KBClive.

Week ten of KBC has had everything – money, gifts, fun, laughter, charity- the works. It began on a surprising note when SRK and Hyundai Santro decided to gift ten Santros for the FFF contestants on Monday night. Sporting a more casual look, Shah Rukh began play with a new contestant – Ravindra Gautam – on KBC this week. Although Ravindra reached 80,000 rupees, he selected the wrong answer for the next questions and came back down to 20,000 rupees. Next on the hot seat on Monday night was Subir K. Das from Morigaon, Assam. At the close of play on Monday night, Subir had won 20,000 rupees.

However, all the fun only began at the end of the episode, when SRK surprised the remaining FFF contestants with their very own Santro cars.

Das resumed play on Tuesday night. However, sadly for him the evening ended before it even began. Having 4 lifelines in stock, Subir decided to use audience poll for the second question of the evening. Going with the Audience proved fatal and his game came to an end as the answer he selected was incorrect.

Replacing Das was Dharmesh Malhotra from Agra who had carried a gift for SRK from his wife. And as Khan enjoyed his gift, Dharmesh couldn't stay long enough to enjoy himself. Deciding on the wrong answer the game ended for Malhotra and he had to exit with only 20,000 rupees.

Akhilesh Chandra took the Hot Seat after Dharmesh. By close of play on Tuesday night he had reached 40,000 rupees. Wednesday night too belonged completely to Akhilesh. Playing brilliantly he continued to work through the questions intelligently and smartly. Using reason and fact he won 25 lakh rupees for himself and left everyone else spell bound with his knowledge.

Next on the Hot Seat that evening was Bal Bhadra from Vishakapatnam. Bhadra hasn't yet begun play and will start his quest on the Hot Seat only on Monday evening as Thursday night belonged to the Munnbhai duo – Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani.

Playing for three different charities, both Sanjay and Boman performed very well. Keeping the audiences entertained with their wit and humour, the two won 50 lakh rupees. From quizzing to singing, the celebrity special had something for everyone.

KBC News - SRK: Nice to play host to two of the nicest people in the industry

Shah Rukh Khan talks about the joy of playing with Sanjay and Boman.

As KBC fans all over the world enjoyed Sanjay and Boman's presence on the show last week, the host seemed equally pleased as well. Having had no real time for rehearsals or briefing the two stars about the show, Khan feels the spontaneity in the show helped make it extra special for everyone.

Shah Rukh told KBClive that the reason he invited Sanjay and Boman to the show was not because of the popularity of the Munnabhai movies but for the fan following and love that the two enjoy. "The whole idea behind the programme was to get two nice people... two genuine and good people to come down to the show. The theme of the show was 'kar bhala toh ho bhala' and I didn't want to harp on about Munnabhai aspect only because I think both those individuals stand for a career in films much beyond one film or two films – not deriding or taking away from Munnabhai at all. It was a wonderful film and both of them acted very well in it. But I felt we wont get stuck only on that but bring these nice persons to come and talk about nice things like charity, giving."

Khan says he is extremely honoured that Boman, who is currently shooting for his movie Goal in London, flew down to India especially for the show as well as Sanjay, who also took out time from his busy shooting schedule. "These celeb shows are for charity and both of them feel very strongly about their charities. Boman flew down from London just for a day for the show and Sanju cancelled his trip to Khandala for a shoot. And both of them said 'no we'll come here' and they waited for hours and completed the show."

"And I think just their actions speak exactly what we wanted to say in the show – be of a giving nature and share with your fellow humans and there is a lot of beauty and greatness in giving. And that's why Boman and Sanju came on the show!" sums up SRK.

KBC News - Bal Bhadra leaves with 6, 40,000 rupees

Re-cap from last night.

Last night Bal Bhadra Dev from Vishakapatnam began his journey towards the 2 crores on offer but unfortunately for him before he could settle in, his journey came to a halt. The first hiccup came right early on at the third question where Bhadra made use of his Audience Poll lifeline. As he managed to cross this question, he reached another hurdle soon after on question five where he had to make use of yet another lifeline – 50:50 – to win the twenty thousand on offer.

However, after that Bal seemed to overcome his initial nerves and played steadily to reach the 3, 20,000 rupees question. And just when things seemed to be in his favour, Bhadra seemed unsure once again and made use of another lifeline. Using the Phone-a-Friend lifeline, Bal Bhadra went on to get the question correct and was assured of 6, 40,000 rupees at the end of his game.

Sadly, the contestant from Vishakapatnam couldn't get very far and finally two questions later he perished by giving the wrong answer. Not only did the game end for him but he also lost half his money and came down from 12,50,000 back to the minimum amount of 6,40,000 rupees.

Talking to KBClive after his game, Bal Bhadra said he was quite disappointed with himself. "Sure I have won a decent sum of money but I certainly wish I had done better. It was great being here and playing with Shah Rukh but I'll always be a bit unhappy about not doing better and losing half the money that I had already won!"
