It definitely is a derogatory term. However annoying Vivek was, this term shouldn't have been used against him. It smacks of a homophobic comment. Is Vivek gay? He looked and sounded gay to me though ofcourse there are hot manly gays too who make every woman nearly cry at the injustice of God's distribution of sexual orientation 😆

Regardless of Vivek's sexual orientation, it was a homophobic comment.

Kushal has said way worse things than "Chammiya" to Vivek...he made fun of Vivek's sexuality, way of life, walk, talk...and guess what, MOMMA GOHAR agreed and laughed along.

Oh please! Gauahar kept shouting "Kushal! KUSHAL!" whenever he went overboard 😆 It was irritating to hear that constantly but also audible enough for everyone to deduce she does not support such views ever. Salman would never have let go of such a golden opportunity had she not been that way.

aahhh I am not sure if we watched the same episode, but during the VERY first argument (with the dish washing episode) of Vivek and Kushal, Gohar laughed with Kushal when he bullied him. So did Kamya and Pratyusha. Salman did mention it on one of the weekend episodes as well.

Initially everyone i.e Gauahar, Kamya, Prats were laughing. When things turned serious, Gauahar again ran after Kushal and asked him to shut up. Uff, that refrain of hers "Kushal, Kushal!" is something I won't forget. Then when Kushal callously asked him why is he crying being a man, Gauahar again pulled Kushal and said "its because he is hurt!"

So yes, we are watching the same show. But maybe we notice different things :-)

when it comes to homophobia and racism and other sensitive issues, Indians are one of the worst..

you see people with blackface on TV, people making racist jokes about East Asians' eye shape, blatant homophobic comments are said on TV, and people don't bat an eye lid..

yet people start burning effigies and rioting over things that aren't even remotely bad.. that's some effed up priority there..

even in this forum, mods censor the most harmless comments but leave out a lot of malicious comments..

exactly I was so shocked to hear him say that and did u see gauhar's reaction to when salman opposed kushal saying its ok... its like she totally disagreed with salman and felt kushal was right in calling vivek a chamiya.😲 aaj kuch na bhi bol kar gauhar bohat kuch bol gayi... im disappointed in both kushal and gauhar today... gauhar's stand of supporting her friend regardless of the fact if they r right or not is so wrong - IMO kushal being around brings the worst out of gauhar becos she thinks kushal doesn't do anything wrong - she didn't think kushal was wrong in what he said to tanisha nor did she think kushal was wrong in calling vivek chamiya.
