It made me really happy to see Sallu Bhaiyya participate in diwali puja... I have very rarely seen muslims participate in hindu festivals and rituals...if everybody in India participated in each other's festivals, we would have true secularism and there would not be any hindu vs muslim problem...now Sallu Bhai is definitely my favourite...Thank you bhai. You rock !!👏

Salman's mother, Salma , is a Hindu. She converted to Islam when she married Salim Khan. I believe they partake in both Hindu/Muslim festivals.

Salman identifies himself as half Hindu and half Muslim.

Salman is a good guy deep down..lol...
But one thing I would like to say... I disagree with the fact that Muslims don't participate in Hindu festivals... We do... In fact, I think a lot of Muslims do,...

I am Muslim myself and I enjoy Islamic festivals , Hindu festivals, Christian festivals, etc... It's just in our religion that we can't perform any sort of prayers or rituals for another religion ,,, But, it's up to the person to choose if they wish to follow or not..

But, we are completely allowed to take part in the festivities, join into the celebration, dress up, and have fun... Weather it's Eid, Diwali, or Christmas, we enjoy it all..

And seriously, I do not understand why people point so much fingers at Muslims .. If you are not a Muslim and you don't know much about the religion, DON'T COMMENT ON IT,... Why is their a topic on this forum every single day about "Muslim's and Islam"... ??? **rolls eyes** MANY Muslims accept, celebrate, and appreciate other festivals... It's in our religion to respect other religions with due respect... So don't assume that it's "rare" for Muslims to take part in celebrations... Maybe prayers and rituals, but not celebrations

I grew up with Muslim friends, in fact my best friend is Muslim. She refused to go to the Mandir with me. She chose to sit in the car while i went inside. That's just one example, I don't know abt other people. Different people have different views and I respect her sentiments.

TM is just putting forward what he sees. There is no need to get defensive. I dont think his/her intention was to mock any religion or it's followers/customs.

Anyways, thank you for the insight.

You are right different people different views. I am a muslim but i have been to mandir, did arti as well. been to church and also gurudwara and just been there but also cooked lots and lots of roti as well.

me and my friends, group of 6 girls, during eid everyone is at my house. during diwali all of us are at my friends house and also during christmas and baisakhi. our group is multi cultural and we do participate in each others festivals. I dont "bow" in front of other Gods but other than that i am ok. go to mandir, gurudwara church and celebrate all the festivals. navratri is my fav. like playing garba and all.

Yeah, that's based on different perspectives but the religion does allow it... As coming to the TM, it's not just Muslims, but many Hindu's, Cristians, Sikh's do the exact same thing so I feel religion should be kept out of the discussion... In fact, I see a topic on "Being a Muslim this, Muslim that," every single day on this forum... It's offensive...

There were some offensive topics in this section which the mods eventually closed.

Completely agree with you on that. People have different ways of following their religions. My grandparents, strict Hindu's, refused to eat at my Muslim friend's house because they felt the same dishes were used to serve beef. I thought that was going too far but i can see where they were coming from.
