@TM I think you failed to understand the fact that one parent of his is hindu and one is muslim. I can't speak for you, but I was inherently born in a muslim household. I didn't face the difficulty of having to pick or choose a religion. But If I was, or possibly even if you were born in such a situation, things would have been very different. Put yourself in salman's shoes, and then think about it. It's not easy to take such a big decision, so cut him some slack for at least trying to maintain a balance between such contrasting lifestyles. Baaqi is upto Allah.

And another thing, please don't bring Islamic teachings and verses from the Holy Quran in trying to explain or prove your point. It naturally seems that you are trying to preach Islam, which you think is supreme, and this incites "certain" people to badmouth our teachings. I get why you did it, but some people won't, and the bout of curses will start afresh.

First of all - please use some netiquette and stop posting in all caps.

Secondly, my post was targeted to those who were bashing the topic maker for demeaning Hinduism and bringing issues like Pakistan, India etc.!

But the topic maker was NOT demeaning Hinduism. He was raising questions whether Salman is demeaning Islam or not as he performs rituals which is prohibited in Islam.

And just like the topic maker is raising questions for following two religions, there are lots of conservative hindus who will not like the fact that a Hindu will follow Islamic rituals. Conservative people are on both sides.

Now- a person can follow two religions - it's completely a matter of own choice. Giving respect to a person should not be confined to religious aspect only.

The topic maker is conservative. But at the same, calling names, giving threats or bringing issue or Pakistan, India etc. was no way of showing broad-mindedness.,

I am a Pakistani and ypu have NO right to say anything to the people of my country. The TM didn't bring two countries in this topic. Give respect and then only you'll be respected. I have nothing against Salman Khan ajd what he does as its his personal life. However, by abusing someone for being a Paki shows your mentality. Get a life.

its good you are worried about other people's (like salman) akhirat but if were you, i would worry about mine first. you know there is a hadith which states 999 out of 1000 will go into hellfire. do you think you are improving upon your chances by watching and discussing a show that is full of zina and idol worship ? that is what gets me every time i see a thread like this on IF. apna thikana nahi chale hai duniya ko sudharne. Jo log Pakistani/Indian kar rahe that is just tit for tat kind of responses that goes on all the time here.

PS: I'm not a Muslim but you can verify everything I said by yourself.

This is utterly offensive.

It does not even matter if his parents are from two different religions. Him even being part of pooja is not horrible. Whatever happened to respecting one another's religions? Living in a pluralistic society? Why are you being so orthodox? Everything is not black and white in spirituality so please do not close everyone in a box with such traditional black/white thinking.

Just because you are not of one faith, does not make you a sinner to pray differently from what you have been brought up with. It is in fact what God wants when he mentions in most books (including the Quran), that he made everyone differently so that we may know one another!

I suggest you step back, and do more reading on interfaith dialogue and expand your knowledge base on this topic.
