Dude, who's denying all of that ?

My whole problem stems from portraying this incident as racism/discrimination when it is CLEARLY NOT ! It is a case of PURE BULLYING. That is it !

Why is OP giving this incident a india vs bangladesh / how india discriminates against 'lesser countries' flavor ? Why is he/she bringing nationalities into this if this whole issue has nothing to do with nationalities of the bullies and the bullied ? Is there any proof that asif was discriminated against and isolated because of his nationality ? THERE IS NONE ! Some people are just making unfounded claims based on assumptions and their own personal biases. I'm just calling out the bullshit here because I'm frankly getting sick of this "racism" allegation with regards to this incident.

You should ask OP why he/she is invoking nationalities into his/her arguments, not me.

G'night !

Silverbug, what I posted is an opinion. That's kind of the point of having a forum. You have an issue with it, just ignore it. Calling it bs repeatedly is not really doing you much favor. I am talking to you in a respectful manner still, and you are not. That is out there for all to see.

Also, I did specify that they races are the same. But their nationalities are not, in written word, the use of labels come up. That's kind of that whole point. Critical thinking and analysis however will show you that if I had to make a political statement, I would go to another forum. Not post on Bigg Boss forum 😆. What would be my gain anyway when I a citizen of neither country? What they did was bullying and nationality based bullying. I call these non-entities out to own up to it. If it hurts you just because you are Indian, then (I repeat) you did not read my post correctly. Please refer back to paragraph 1-3.

I think the TM made it quite clear that she wasn't talking about racism in Asif's case..she made it clear that it was an allegation of ignorance, bullying and finally preference treatment... But you kept going on with your racism chant... I mean, where did racism fit into ASIF'S CASE...??? The post you quoted of hers clearly says that and you still go on about how she kept using "Bangladeshi, Indians and Bengali" just to prove that she was making a racism allegation... So for you information, IT WASN'T ABOUT RACISM... And even if it was about racism, which it's not, why would you get so hyperor offended over it?? It does happen in India quite a lot

I too felt he was disrespected a lot.. n I really liked his bond with heaven..his only true friend there...I was really shocked at pratyusha's remark on him..when he was just telling her what to improve upon...All other contestants listened to him and atleast respected what he said..but pratyusha was really immature and salman really took her to task by blasting her for her disrespect...He was really genuine person in BigBoss house... I wish he goes a long way in his career..

Did I say anything about racism?? I don't reckon so... I said he got bullied in that house and as Indians we should accept that... This will ultimately become a discussion of nationality because some Bengali's are upset with the way Asif was treated... I'm not saying he was treated that way for his nationality at all but if you look at the picture as a whole, nationality will come in between because he was bullied in an Indian Reality Show as a Bangladeshi... It's a topic that will come up... And he got bullied for his language barrier which was apparent and an indirect case of mocking for Bengali's as many d them don't know Hindi well... I have Bengali friends and they were disappointed... Yeah a lot of racism goes on in India which I agree to but for, I don't believe this was a case of racism at all...

You wanna include nationality in a debate and stroke nationalism where there is no need for it and there is no relevance of it then be my guest. This just causes more division and diverts attention from real issues. If there was no hint of discrimination, I just fail to understand why any sane person would want to talk about nationalities and fuel the hatred even more.

The consequences won't be good.

Like I said , I could also say something baseless like contestants from UP and Bihar are discriminated against because there is a recurring pattern of them getting bullied in this show. Tomorrow another group will say that Muslims are treated are unfairly because of the way Imam and Gauhar were treated. Greeks will say they are treated unfairly because Ellie was insulted. Is there any end to this ? This is just pure madness, too much speculation, over generalization and making a mountain out of a mole.

Personally speaking, I don't want a bullshit incident like this in a scripted drama show, where things are said and done to create sensation, like this to become "national outrage" (like the OP said) when people are dying in Kashmir, Dalit hinterlands, NE, Telengana over real incidents of ethnocentrism. We are not a first world country where niggling shit like this should be the headlines, we have some real problems.

I'm not apologetic over what happened to Asif and nor do I contemplate over that incident "as an Indian". I feel bad that Armaan stuck his finger in his teeth and wish it never happened. I had no role in what happened to him. I'm not going to carry this burden of collective guilt.

one more point...I saw some of your comments against salman..this is my personal view...I dont think salman behaved badly with him..It was salman only who asked pratyusha to respect what Asif was saying...he was being funny with his sleeping part..that he does with every other celebrity... He has been mean to others too...not only asif...Salman has been fair with all...

Well said, Closed. The last thing I wanted as fights with people here. I hate it when people ruin posts with fights because then any TM as to keep justifying that what they meant was different. I never said anything against all Indians and repeatedly clarified. I am not Bangladeshi or Indian or Pakistani, what affected me so deeply was the mistreatment of another human being and how they were all dismissing him whenever he attempted to talk, even the host! I don't even know the guy, but I have been a fan of Indian media all my life. So yes, when they do something wrong, I will point it out as a viewer. What Salman did was also irrationally immature behavior. Nothing new there, and I say that as someone who likes Salman a lot for his humanitarian work.

When SRK visited Bangladesh, I went and YouTubed it only because he went. A Bangladeshi got over excited and misbehaved a little. All the audience there reacted angrily and guards pulled him off the stage. He was also severely reprimanded by the public (publicly) for his misbehavior later by the Bangladeshi public.

Yes, every country does have idiots. It's about how we tackle those idiots that matters. If we go on defending our idiots just to save face, it looks rather inappropriate. A reality show is supposed to be idiocy to an extent but there is a line even they should not cross. If the Kartrashians mistreated a foreign minority, there will be reprimands from the channel. That's the point.

P.S. Silverbug. Bengali is a language, Bangladeshi is not. While Bengali can be used to designate Tagore who was born in Calcutta, Bangladeshi is the correct term for people of Bangladesh. So, I was not using the terms interchangeably. You got confused because I was also talking about the language at the same time. Bengalis and Bangladeshis both speak Bengali/Bangla.

Also, it does not matter how many incidents of anti-Indian rhetoric you can find. That is outside the scope of this forum and show. This show is Indian, so the Indian part came up. This is the occasion to air frustration against all other injustices against India. As I said, it is not a nationalist post, it is a reprimand against inmates in the Bigg Boss house and how they are reflecting a small, but bad thread of Bollywood.

so u should also stand for Vivek, he was also bullied a lot by everyone.

and what about bad behaviour with gauhar today? that wasnt injustice?

yes indian media is highly biased. i fully agree with u. and salman khan is even more biased. he favours only his friends and what he likes.

guahar, kushal, tanisha, arman, kamya , pratyusha all bullied him.
armaan bullied asif the most but salman ,he will never ever speak against his friend armaan for any wrong thing he does. in fact even salman has in a way bullied asif. and i'm fully against it.

but again, i'll say, that saying that they did it because asif is not indian is not true.

Adding to the debate here that I can see- Whatever happened in the show was a case of bullying.. like what Andy is undergoing now...and when all of them did gang up against tanisha too... I dont think this is anything to do with racism.. so there is no question of this debate...

Yes, I noticed that too. Salman really redeemed himself there. But let's not defend Salman all the time either. We all know he's clicky and overprotective about people he likes from his inner circle. That's not new. Having seen him over the years, he also retaliates badly when he finds himself mistreated or misunderstands his inner circle.

He is the kindest and most wonderful sometimes and then he goes and dos something irrational. And he really is the last person who should talk about women's rights. His movies often come across as chauvinist and so does he. He's a superstar but he's not perfect.
