Shilpa Agnihotri: Apoorva is a great contestant
DC | Natasha Coutinho | 15 sec agoShilpa Agnihotri's dream of seeing husband Apoorva Agnihotri as captain in the 'Bigg Boss' house has finally been fulfilled but unfortunately for the actress, she had to bid adieu to the show the very next day.
She rues, "I am going to miss the show and the people, specially Apoorva. I had kind of expected to be evicted so it wasn't a complete shocker."
One of the most memorable moments on the show has been Shilpa's outburst after Apoorva was asked to shave his head and get a mohawk. Speaking about what was going through her mind then, she says, "Our industry is appearance- driven, talent comes second. If he had to cut two-three inches of hair I would not mind but here he had to cut 80 per cent of his hair. You will see bald actors once in a thousand films and most opt for patch. It will take at least three-four months for his hair to grow back and eight-nine months to get the length he used to have. He was in talks with a leading channel for a daily soap that will go on air in December, which he will not be able to do now, even if he is evicted before that. I was concerned that he will be forced to be jobless till his hair grows back and he is the only loser in the whole deal."
So, who does she feel are genuine and fake in the house? Shilpa prefers not to take any names stating that, "It's difficult to say who's genuine because everybody is here to play the game. Nobody's here to get married, it's about making news."
Speaking about contestants who can make it to the finals, the actress says husband Apoorva surely deserves to be on the list. "Apoorva is a great contestant. It's easy to snap at people. But he never retaliates and that is important. Fighting isn't the solution. You are being viewed by 84 cameras and the way you portray yourself will remain with you," she says.
