Racism at its best! Why do the other participants not find his Hindi cute like Elli's?

I am truly disgusted by their behavior. I am rooting for Asif this week.

Whats wrong in that yaar... it was a part of task and so he was saying it.. is showing respect to someone or behaving with manners that bad?? agreed ki the way he speaks sounds funny sometimes but they can correct him.. what they did to him was totally unfair.. and seriously yaar when all the housemates are making fun of him what more can he do.. he needs a support atleat from salman..

Asif does some silly things so he becomes the butt of their jokes,people in this forum were laughing also at his five kilo "phish" comment...he should have refused to do the task,if it was unbearable..if he did the task on his own will,why whine about it later??

I agree that some housemates are rude when they don't want to talk to him,he should be just like ellie and stay aloof and do his work instead of trying to interact with them..nobody can treat you like a doormat unless you allow them to.

@BOLD.. Court session part was not a 'luxury-budget task'. Still all Hale-mates were continuously laughing at Asif and interrupting him.

I agree to your point but I feel he should continue to protest everytime and not just when given an opportunity in a platter. He is bullied by everyone because he took the first potshot by Armaan lying down. When it was not even a part of any task. He continues to be with Armaan in spite of such offensive things said about him on his face. So as many would say how can someone expect respect when he does not respect himself.

But again in no uncertain terms I would like to state that what happened today should not have happened and I hope Salman should bring it up big time and reprimind everyone involved.

People who are calling it racism don't what the hell they are talking about. Is Asif from a seperate race as other Indians ? How is he ethnically different from Pratyusha who is also making fun of him ?

Do you really think Asif is ridiculed only because of his Hindi or also because of the unwarranted, uncontrolled crap that he says in the most unexpected situations ? I honestly think its the later. That and the fact that people don't like people who follow around bullies even after getting humiliated like papus.

And besides, Indians make fun of each other's Hindi all the time. Those who are saying that it is racism have obviously never lived in India. Watch Indian movies/Hindi tv channels and see how they ridicule the way:

Biharis speak hindi

Punjabis speak hindi

Tamils speak hindi

Pahadis speak hindi

Tamils speak hindi

Marathis speak hindi

Hyderabadis speak hindi

Bengalis (west) speak hindi

It's not done with racial intent but just for pure fun. I have seen Paksitani TV shows like Hasb - e Hal and moin akhtar parodies and they make fun of how different people speak urdu with an accent as well. Like I said it is just for pure entertainment. Please don't apply western standards of racism to desis, it just not right.

You can call it Hindi language chauvinism at worst but racism ?? Hell No !!

The funny thing is that those who are making fun are not native Hindi speakers either. Infact nobody speaks proper chaste Hindi with the exception of people in academics or some politicians. Everyone's Hindi is some sort of spin off.

Don't even apply the analogy of how White people make fun of Indian accent because Indians are not Whites and Bangladeshis aren't Indian. There is a long history behind White racism against people of color.
