The vehement reaction he had to just the suggestion of sharing a double-bed with Andy was weird. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

You think people from the LGBT community do not face such situations in everyday life? I just shared a couple of page back, how I used to see my Prof being threatened and humiliated. This is a fact of life and they as well as we (their supporters) are used to it. We can only hope to change attitudes over time. And honestly when ypou see a Rajev Paul abusing Imam without any provocation or the kind of reaction Kushal had towards Andy - people don't realize how misplaced and out of sync such reactions are? Andy and Imam in their ways are doing their bit to get their community a voice and stature.

They do face it but shouldn't there be a code of conduct when you are on national TV ?

This show has set some very bad precedents in the past too with regionalism, casteism and treatment of women.

What's really sad is that the show encourages this kind of behavior to get TRP.

So the audience has voted and most felt that he is a homophobe and I agree

I loved how his ass was sent to hell for not wanting to share the bed. Now he can survive in there with no toilet paper and water along with no power to vote 😆

But how? Does he think homosexuality is catching? Or did he think Andy was going to pounce on him? The entertainment industry has a large number of gay people and all the inmates must interact with them on a regular basis so it's shameful to see this attitude especially in a person belonging to the industry. It kind of provides validation to those people who smirk at, or worse, bully, gays.

I haven't watched the episode yet so I will reserve my judgment until I watch it for myself. However, from the description pointed out in the OP, it doesn't seem all that unnatural let alone homophobic. Straight men I know do not hold hands, shack up in the same bed or sleep next to each other with other men, given the choice so he probably would have had the same reaction towards a straight male as well. Again, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because his behavior seems legit to me on paper (from my cultural standpoint anyway). And I don't think its all that surprising that he wouldn't have an issue sleeping next to a girl. Which straight male would have a problem with that? Unless he was attached or his S/O was watching with a hawk eye? Or the girl was butt ugly? 😆😆
