I thought desperation = passion and when Suyyash made that comment, it felt like he was not passionate about winning and so didn't care about it so didn't put in that much effort. Even in the captaincy episode, it seemed like Prince put in A LOT more effort. He seemed to go around to HMs and make them false promises while Suyyash stood there waiting for HMs to come to him to ask him questions. I could be wrong, but I'm reacting based on what I saw in the epi.
So in regards to Suyyash's lack of passion, I think it was completely unsportsmanlike. What's the point of playing a game if you don't care for the outcome? If you're not going to put in a lot of effort?
And I mean tbh, the entire sportsmanship convo only came into being because Suyyash himself brought it in to defend his behaviour during the flour task (which itself, the crickter statement was so weird and unnecessary). If he hadn't brought it up then, then it wouldn't have been brought up now.
I don't see anything wrong with not wanting to become captain right now like Suyyash was. But when you combine that with his previous comments on sportsmanship, then yeah, it does look contradictory and badly upon him. He brought it upon himself.
Salman had made an earlier comment to Suyyash when Suyyash had said that he didn't like the way Aman was behaving with Kishwar when they were tied together. He said that women should be treated a specific way and Salman had told him to be careful with makng such comments. That comment itself backfired on him when he acted like a complete asshole to Rimi and Rochelle.
He makes flippant comments to make himself a higher moral authority and then disregards them and acts hypocritical.
So yeah, I'm in agreement with Salman for bringing that up -- actually it wasn't even Salman who brought it up. It was another viewer. So Salman wasn't necessarily being biased.
