Trying to Understand the GG wave.

BB8 is ending. After watching the show religiously for almost 5 months, I tried to analyze the entire season.

The whole BB8 season was all about Gautam Gulati. People called contestants Double dholkis if they said something against GG. If they nominate him they have become backstabbers.
Every constant was either appreciated or condemned only with respect to GG.

Whether you belong to GG club or Anti-GG club, it didnt make any difference when it came to voting. Appreciation doesn't make somebody a winner only voting does, which was always for GG. (for eg GG fans would have never voted for Pritam even if always supported GG. right?) I think Pritam realized this in the half way, so, he tried to be himself.

Whats special about GG? why such a big wave in his favor?

Is it becoz he is a good looking guy? But there were some really good looking guys in previous seasons as well, but they didnt win.

He hasn't done anything so different and great in the show to get so much fan base. ..!!!

He started the show with gaali controversy, yet people pardoned him when he cried and apologized. Thats the starting point to GG wave. Karishma triggered GG Tsunami in a way.

He never took stand for anybody or anything, but nobody considers it important. Same GG fans blamed other HMs if they failed to take stand for GG.

He spoke cheaply about almost every female participant in the house, but all females fans were absolutely okay with that. When he was asked about his comments he always lied , and never really apologized anybody.

He passed personal and dirty comments almost about everybody, but when others said anything which is remotely personal, fans didnt show them any mercy on them.

He clearly patted Sambhava's back for throwing the sandal, yet his fans found no fault in this. He changed sides so many times but he never was Double Dholki.

How can we forget how immediately he changed his tune, called Diandra just a friend after the party. No, he is still not a Double Dholki.

He is never cheap even considering lotion leelas.

Its beyond my understanding, how his fans never found anything wrong with what GG did or said.

I feel there are 3 major factors, which helped him to gain so much popularity.

1. He is good looking (not such an imp factor though)

2. He was alomst always shirtless, showing his abs.

3. The most IMPORTANT factor is He always played a Victim card, always tried to gain sympathy, cried , spoke to cameras. This is really a deadly combination. Considering all the female contestants who won in previous seasons , like, Juhi, Gauhar or swetha, they were always abala naaris. Now GG is a deadly combination of both looks and Abala naari syndrome! that has made him irresistible and helped him earn so many fans...which created a huge GG wave.

My only favorites this season are 1st Praneet and next Sonali, in the order of preference. But i knew very well from the beginning that they dont have any chance to win, becoz they are not fake or played politics. In a way i was happy and relieved when Praneet got voted out. I felt as if he was rescued.

All I would want to say is, any other contestant never had any chance of winning BB8.. they can never be like GG.

There ends the another season of BB, which left me wondering, is the show worth my time? or anybody's time? I am feeling somewhat embarrassed of myself for watching it so religiously.

Disclaimer : GG fans, the show is done, you have your fav constant as winner, whatever i say or write doesnt change anything any more. so please take it easy even if you dont like this topic Thank you all.

a lot of "Almost", "everybody", "everyone", "all female", no specific example lol
here you go..

Almost everyone who went out of the BBH supported him..
Almost everyone who went out said Gautam is playing real while others are playing safe..
Almost all the Bollywood actors/actress supported him...
Over 50% of the viewer supported him..

not all these can be wrong?

In BBH its simple, ppl choice the one who is "less bad" than others, and that is Gautam, he might be irritating the housemates at times, but he was always straightforward, didn't try to play safe and be in good books of everyone like almost everyone (expect KT & him) did.. Trying to save theirselves from nomination, punishments, by becoming friendly with captain/large group for a week just to avoid getting most votes for nomination...then next week change party to other strong group.. On other side Gautam took all the nomination, punishment without even complaining and didn't actually care about it and always played straightforward and didn't need to come in housemates good book, thats why he was hated by housemate. 😉

In just a few words...GG never was a Hero. ...He was made a Hero by the contestants...evidences r he tops the nominations...He was the prime focus...be it his fans or his haters. ..the forum posts say it all...max. posts r on him...and the Like keys too attract the fans and haters for his positive or anti posts...imagine if he would have been out in the 2nd week...after KT's outcry for disqualification. ...BB8 would not have remained the same...that answers it all. ...this post of mine or your thread will have more replies coming up...thks to GG😆

Unlike the previous seasons, nobody was plain white or plain black this season, everyone was grey-shaded,with their goods and bads.
The initial 'bullying' gautam went through made him a hero in many's eyes..and nothing changed much to change that view till the end.

I totally agree... till now I can;t fathom the reason he was liked so much .. in fact in the beginning even I found him cute for his antics but he stopped being cute a looming time ago - around the time he was rude to Praneet and Pritam. I guess most people still held on to it as this season there was no real strong personality. SO and men kana raja :)

Almost everyone criticized him and was annoyed by him and nobody supported him.they just said he would win because he was popular and not because he deserved to win.

Credit and popularity may not go Hand in hand.

Yes people voted for him to whatever reasons but he didn't win because he was worthy, he will win because all others were shown to be less worthier than him.

Sonali praneet diandra were much better winner personalities , but could never shine out in the shadow of gg.
Their perspectives were never shown.

Are you YET trying to understand about the GG wave, or have you already formed strong opinions for or against it ? lol
You don't seem to be loitering anywhere inbetween and in need for clarification or understanding of any sort. Somehow, for or against your will, you desperately sound anti-GG and you probably are. lol So, I'm not gonna waste my time helping you understand, what created the "GG wave".

Have a nice day!

Your comment adds nothing of value to the discussion.
You could have walked past it if you did not want to waste your time on this thread.
It just sounds desperately pro- gautam when each one of us knows that pro or anti doesn't even matter anymore.

And yes have a nice day.
