I didn’t mean to offend you, but if you are from such a background you must be aware calling anyone “dear” is not a nice thing. “Dear” is a term of endearment. Calling a stranger this is not at all polite. It’s actually patronising. Why would you want to second guess whether this stranger will feel offended by the term “dear” or not from a random stranger and call them that???? Please leave “Dear” for people with whom you have a loving relationship.
That’s what I am trying to explain. Tina felt offended and I get it coz I feel offended when some random person calls me “dear”. I love hearing it from my family and friends.., but not at all from anyone who I dislike. So Tina was right in getting irritated.

Dear word chidane ke liye hi bola tha Shiv ne...jaisa Tina apne matlab ke liye Dear karke aati hai..mere birthday hai mujhe captaincy de do🥰👉🏻👈🏻

Tina offend isliye huyi kyunki usko captaincy mili nahi aur usko gussa nikalna tha..so usne kiya...baat khatam thi udhr..ab isme koi naya angle nahi hai ki ladki ke saath badtameezi dikha raha hai

Tina ne usse pehle jo bola "this guy is never kisika"

Ye kon hoti hai bhai kisi ki loyalty judge karne waali

Abdu ko zabardasti hug, kiss karke uncomfortable feel karwati thi...tab samjh nahi kisi ki personal space mein na jau

Ek baar ke liye Priyanka ne ispr mudda banaya hota toh support kar lete kyunki iski Shiv ke saath waisi equation nahi hai..tab badtameez dikhta Shiv

Personal choice ki baat nahin hai. English is not everyone’s strong suit. In English speaking countries people don’t address random people as “Dear” as it’s just not done. It’s kinda patronising thing to do.

Toh agar kisi ki English strong hoti hai unko accha nahin lagta ki ajneebi unko iss “Dear” shabd say bulaye. Jiski English week hai unko pharak nahin padta.

@bold ... exactly my take on that word DEAR

I think you aren’t getting the point of my post. I am neither defending Tina or Shiv. Only saying “Dear” is often misused when we Indians address strangers. Mera post ka matlab hi kuch alag topic hai.

Woah !!!! Way to judge people 👏

Meaning of “Dear” as per Oxford dictionary is “regarded with deep affection; cherished by someone.”

Many people in India don’t know this meaning and hence use it casually. They think it’s acceptable polite term. It’s equivalent to some stranger in your work place calling you “janeman, Janejigar” It won’t be appreciated!

That’s why I said one’s English has to be week if one incorrectly uses the term “Dear”.
