Apsi sehamati is a unanimous decision. It is a concept in the American justice system where the jury has to reach a unanimous verdict to charge a defendant for a serious crime in a trial. Indian used to have a jury system but has long since been abandoned.
Be that as it may, apsi sehamati is a legitimate way of making decisions. It actually works most of the time.
Now the problem with what Pratik was doing is exactly what Teja pointed out. I don't mind that he had an individual opinion. Great, have one. Problem yeh hai ki he did not offer a solution. He did not agree with the gharwale, so what solution is he proposing?
I fully believe that Karan, Jay and Vishal had the dignity that had it come to the point that only one of them could be a davedaar, two of them would have backed out. THAT is apsi sehamati.
Apsi sehamati means that you are WILLING TO COMPROMISE. WILLING TO HAVE A DIALOG. WILLING TO HAVE A DISCUSSION.
Pratik was not. His solution was - EITHER ME OR F*** OFF. Bhai duniya aise nahi chalti. Tera kya solution hai? Deal banao. Leverage use karo. Promises lo. Promises do. Aise hi toh hota hai bhai developed civilizations mein karobaar.
If a person absolutely refuses to engage - it results in a breakdown of basic civility. Pratik could not be reasoned with. He just took his stand - and that's it - shut off all paths to get to a solution.
Teja couldn't explain her point to Salman, she was using too many words and not explaining well, but the point she was trying to make was valid. The gharwale were TRYING to arrive at a solution, Pratik was NOT. Hence Pratik was wrong.
Salman did a terrible thing by giving badahava to Pratik. Now this dumb champu is going to do this all the time nonstop. Pratik is the one that stands outside the bounds of civil discussion. Pratik is the one who broke the fabric of society by taking such an unreasonable stand. And Salman very dangerously rewarded him. God knows for what reason. It seems even Salman has failed to understand the concept of apsi sehamati and unanimous decision.
