In the previous all seasons of BB, did it happen that the winners got less votes/audience support than the runner ups?

I mean to say that the winner didn't get the highest number of votes in the finale but still the channel favoured him/her for the trophy.

i thought this happened only once ... Manveer vs Bani... bani was Audience vote winner... (some news portal said this) or else winner is by votes only ... you could see n guess same through social media polls trends etc etc

I dont really know. Bani did seem to be getting a lot of votes so maybe BB10?

Otherwise it has been consistent with public tbh.

But yes they do cheat the audience when it comes to daily eliminations. Example Karan Mehra and Nishant.

The finale votes are audited as far as I know so it's difficult to manipulate that. All other eliminations are done as per the channel's whims and fancies.

BB10 was the new commoner/celeb concept so they made a commoner winner to promote it. Vote wise it was always Bani. Commoners were favoured throughout that season

Asim got way more votes than Siddharth Shukla.

Manisha Sharma manipulated to make Shukla the winner as she was dating him and also because of SHuklasigned contract with Colors. Asim on the other hand got offers from outside & refused to lick Edemol/Colors feet.

More than being a winner, I think BB worked for both of them equally. Even if Sid wasn't the winner, he would've got equal limelight like Asim or Sana.

I don’t think they do that at all. They can manipulate every single eviction other than finale. They can’t play around with finale votes

Since final votes get audited, the channel can't mess around with final votes. This is why despite the makers trying their level best to sometimes make another contestant seem more important during the season, the finale results in the most popular contestant winning. 😃
