Dipika converted to Islam and has a Muslim name but she uses dipika kakkar publicly. I think because her changing her name after marriage won't sit well with people. Guys I can be wrong this part though.

At first I thought she was a muslim because her name is Shehnaz and pyaar se people call her Sana. But then came to know her last name is Gill. But I guess we see many such names that are used in many religions. For example I have seen many Muslims, Hindus and Christians have the name Jasmine. Same with Ryan for example.

ABout Mahira I wondered many times why she says yah Allah. 🤔 Maybe she is just used to it. She is maybe surrounded by Muslims.

There is no issue here. TM already said, they were just curious.

If there is an issue, mod will close the post down. Nothing to be aggravated over.

These names are quite common in Sikh community. I belong to Sikh religion and I am a kiwi punjabi. My name is Tasneem which is again derived from Arabic name !!

Actually before partition, Punjab was ethnically diverse with Sikhs, Muslims and various tribes ( IDK if tribe is the right term for it).

So their cultures was very homogeneous. They had a strong influence of Urdu. Hence, still Sikhs keep traditionally Muslim names and some even wear pasas at their wedding.

I find this really beautiful. They value their diverse history.

Mahira's mother is Muslim so I guess she is too.

I'm Hindu, but I gotta say I love Sikhs and Sikhism is such a peaceful and humble religion. ❤️I really enjoyed my time in the Sikh temple: Gurdwara. Everyone was so nice and thoughtful! Sikhs are truly hard working warriors of India since many centuries ❤️

I love how down to earth Sikh people are to even polish shoes of the people coming at the gurudwara. I was seriously so touched when I first saw this.

They're wonderful people and don't forget, how they gave maharaja ranjit Singh.

I love the sewa tradition at the gurudwara. No wonder they feed thousands of people everyday. God bless them!

That can also be a reason for calling them Shehnaz and Shahbaz. That's actually beautiful.

It in turn actually shows how tolerant Sikhs are to other religions.

I'm so glad they are a part of India. We would've been incomplete without them tbh.
