Chapter 4

It was late night ...

Ajabde looked at the mark she received from someone she hardly knows and whether it's the destiny or her bad fate that she liked him from the first day she saw him in town...

she was regretting, another question would be hiding the mark from everyone around her...specially her best friend Ishita...

Ajabde wiped her tears and walked towards her bed when she heard some noise downstairs...

She peeped out of the window, to her surprise he was standing in her garden "what are you doing here?" she whispered angrily, then looked around for the neighbours and specially her Mother who was sleeping downstairs...

"I want to talk to you" Pratap whispered back looking up at the beauty with moist eyes...

"Not now" she exclaimed ...

"I won't go unless we talk now" he responded

Annoyingly she stared at him "fine... Say what you want?"

Pratap glanced around and saw a ladder... Then brought the ladder near her window...

She was rather scared... though she never wanted to show her emotions on her face "what the hell are you doing?"

He smiled and climbed the ladder to enter her room... "Sorry... but I had to talk"

Ajabde turned her face away "ok tell me... what is it that you couldn't wait till tomorrow?"

Pratap glanced around the small and beautiful room ... "You won't let me sit first?"

Ajabde turned around and stared at him "have you come to sleep here?"

"I won't mind that either" he said smilingly...

Ajabde did not say anything...

He smiled and looked at the angry features ... slowly his eyes fell on the mark on her neck "is that..."

He came closer...

She backed away "yes... it's" then she stopped...

"A Love bite" he completed

Nervously she walked towards the window "what do you want to say?"

Pratap smiled "Think of that person you knew when you were a kid, who you always thought you could have loved completely and forever. Well, you could have. It's the truth, and it's the saddest and simplest thing. There isn't just one person for each of us in the world."... he stepped closer

"There aren't many, but there are always a few people we could have made it with, that maybe we still want to make it with, that press themselves so close to our hearts they leave scars, and then slip through our fingers and disappear from our lives. And it doesn't make a difference if you're thirteen or ninety- eight because some things you feel are real, no matter when."

Ajabde looked with moist eyes... "Where Destiny sets its path, Fate shall follow"

"Its destiny, the stars have aligned perfectly to bring us together as friends. You cannot argue with what's meant to be, once the stars have spoken, it is absolute," he uttered, all smug and knowing.

Shocked that he used the word destiny, Ajabde cocked her head and shot him a look...for the first time actually seeing Pratap. He was pretty...too pretty to be a guy; curly black hair dark eyes, brown skin, and a charming smile...

"Destiny has already found me, with a clearly marked path for my future," She retorted.

"Then you are doubly fortunate, to have it find you twice." Pratap smiled again, his eyes eerily piercing into hers...

"I came hoping to see those eyes, but instead I return with my heart" he said softly making her melt in front of his might... What did he just say... She went over his words again... the moment he stepped towards the window she held his hand,

he looked back ... "Everything changes but beauty remains something so tender"

He stepped closer holding her hand "no one has ever touched my heart before...Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this"

Ajabde took his hands in hers... "I do not only think about it, but feel about it"

Pratap smiled ... She continued "I'll haunt your dreams at night, exactly the way you have haunted mine"

"Do you like me?" was another question she asked...

There was no answer, silence bounced... fell off his tongue...and sat between both of them...

"Do you remember the first time we met?" he said and encircled her waist with his arms...He touched his lips to hers as he said it. "We were strangers standing in the dark night...and couldn't keep our eyes off each other...didn't had any words to say". ..He kissed tender lips again... "You won't believe...

I was mad for you the moment I saw you. I wanted to love you...as if I know you from a long time" softly he kissed again... "I still do." He deepened the kiss and embraced her tightly in his arms...
