Hey people. 2nd update here. Like,comment,critisize, areas of improvement or anything 'anuchit' u find, please comment. Updated this earlier than i expected that i would. Do tell me your views. the Comments keep me going. And I was in a lot of mood, so i couldn't resist putting in a small poem about the scenario in the middle. And i also put the dialogues form also. Part-2

Till now: Ajabdeh got the intuition of Pratap's life in danger by the Mansa devi puja done at Chittor by Maharani Jaivantha bai. Rao Mamrakh has left and Ajabdeh, Phoolkanwar, Chakrapani, Vyenidas, Bheem have reached the cave where Pratap was lying and Ajabdeh has found him. Pratap is full of hope at hearing Ajabdeh's voice and she is full of worry and a lot of emotions(see previous part) at seeing Pratap. Poison is making Pratap loose control over his senses and he can't manage to keep his eyes open. Ajabdeh is taking charge...

Pratap managed to open his eyes, but not for long, they again closed. Then he heard Ajabdeh's voice, "Jhaag...aisa to vish ke asar se hi hota hai, parantu Kunwar Pratap ko koi vish kaise de sakta hai?" Pratap tried to tell her about the snake. Although, no voice came out of his mouth, but Ajabdeh was watching him attentively. She made out by the movement of his lips, "Saamp!!" And Bheem's voice came from behind, "Ajabdeh bai sa, aap ki potli."

"Dhanyawad" said Ajabdeh, hurriedly.

By this time, Pratap had fainted. He had no clue whatsoever of what was going on. The last memory of the real world that existed in his mind was Ajabdeh's concerned and caring face. While she searched for the marks of snake fangs, Pratap had no idea of what was happening, or where he was. His mind was completely blank.

Ajabdeh found the snake bite's mark on Pratap's feet. She quickly withdrew the piece of cloth from the potli and tied it tightly around his leg and started sucking out the poison from his wound and spitting it out. To this, Phoolkanwar responded in a very condescending manner with a hint of worry, "Arre Ajabdeh, aap yeh kya kar rahi hai? Aap Bijolia ki rajkumari hain, aise karya karna aapko shobha nahi deta. Aur vaise bhi, agar is vish ki ek boond bhi aapke gale se utar gayi na, to Kunwar Pratap bache ya na bache, aapki mrityu aavashya hi ho jayegi. Aap itni samajhdar hai, aur itna bhi nahi samajhti?"

"Hum jaante hai Phool ki yeh karya kitna ghatak hai. Kintu is samay, ye karya karna aavashyak hai. Aur hum yeh bhi jaante hai ki hum Bijolia ki rajkumari hain. Lekin Kunwar Pratap, we sampurn Mewar ke rajkumar hai, aur pure rajputane ke bhavishya. Inke pranon ka mol hamare pranon ki keemat se bahut adhik hai. To yadi hum inki jaan bachane ke prayaas me mar bhi jaate hain, to hume bilkul dukh nahi hoga kyuki humara balidan hamari matra-bhumi ke rakshak ki jaan bachate huye hua." And with that, she gets back to work. After extracting all the poison from Pratap's body, Ajabdeh tried to wake Pratap up. But he didn't respond. She shakes his arm, but Pratap was still unconscious. She puts her hands on his shoulders and again tries to wake him up, "Kunwar Pratap, Kunwar Pratap uthiye Kunwar Pratap. Dekhiye, aapke shareer se saara vish bhi nikal chuka hai, ab to uth jaiye. Kunwar Pratap.." She sprinkles water on his face. His eyes open, and close. He started muttering in a broken voice, "Ajabdeh...Ajabdeh..."

A smile emerged on Ajabdeh's face at seeing a sign of life in Pratap. She had tears of happiness in her eyes. "Hum yahin hai Kunwar Pratap, yahi hain..." And she wiped her tears with her hand. She suddenly noticed on her hand, "Khoon...itna saara!" Kunwar Pratap's friends along with Ajabdeh turned Pratap's body, revealing the deep wound on his back.

"Hey Eklingji..." muttered Ajabdeh, while the others were going through a shock. Ajabdeh took off her dupatta and cleaned Pratap's wound with it. Then she applied the medicine she had brought with her and covered the wound with her dupatta. "Hame inhe jald se jald rajvaidji ko dikhana chahiye. Aap sab inhe uthakar gadi me letaiye hamare saath." Ajabdeh's commands were put into action immediately. Everyone got seated: Pratap's friends on horses, the rajkumaris in the cart and Pratap lying in front of them, his head in Ajabdeh's lap. Throughout the journey to the castle, Ajabdeh was constantly speaking word of encouragement to Pratap in order to keep him conscious.

On reaching the castle, Pratap was straightaway taken to his room. Ajabdeh called for rajvaidji. After Pratap's checkup:

Ajab: Kunwar Pratap theek to hai na?

RajVaidji: Haan, haan bai sa. Chinta ki koi baat nahi hai. Baujiraj bilkul theek hain.

Ajab(with relief and disappointment): Phir ye uth kyu nahi rahe?

Raj Vaidji: Vish inke sharer me kafi phel chuka tha, isliye yeh kafi kamzor ho chuke hain aur apni chetna kho chuke hain. Hamne inke liye do kadhe(health drink) diye hain. Hare wala kadha vish ke kisi bhi dushparinam se inhe bachayega aur kala vala kadha inke sharer me jaan vapas lautayega. Iske alava, inke ghav par samay se laep laga dijiyega, phir ye kuch hi dino me, purn roop se swasth ho jayenge.

Ajab: Dhanyavad Raj Vaidji.

As raj vaidji left the room, Hansa bai came in. "Hamne abhi-abhi suna. Kunwar Pratap ko saamp kaat gaya! Ab ve theek to hai na?" The five of them (Ajabdeh, Phool, Vyenidas, Charkrapani, Bheem) turned to face her. Phool answered her question, "Haanji massiji, ab ve bilkul theek hain. Bas thoda samay lenge vapas chetna me aane ke liye." But, instead of looking relieved, Hansa bai was looking horrified. She exclaimed, "Ajabdeh!!! Yeh aapne apna kya haal bana rakha hai?"

Hansabai was true to her word,

Alas, she had never seen her daughter as such,

Ajab's long hair was full of hay,

And her lips were not pink, but gray

Patches of blood were everywhere to be seen

Her ghagra had turned red, which yellow had once been

A big smear of blood, was clearly visible on her face

And of her dupatta, there was no trace...
