It is shocking! Her own child is not even born yet and she is already anxious about being Rajmata! And how does she know it is a boy? Did they have methods of sex determination back then? Some desi way? And why does she want to kill Pratap? The boy loves her unconditionally and is this what she gives to him? It was so odd when she was cursing herself why Pratap was not born from her womb! Can't she try to bring up her own child in an ideal way when it is born? Instead of trying to kill Pratap can't she vow to be a good mother to her kid and impart him values better than Pratap's?

Her maid was so faithful to her and even hid her sinister plans from others. She made her try poison too? And how callous to say "Bas vish lene ko hi toh kaha hai?" "Bas"? Is it that small for her?

No matter what frustration she suffered at her maika, she has no right to behave this way!

Emotional blackmail, using her own condition to get sympathy, getting others to obey her by her sweet talk/charms/seduction are on one side. They are bad but not as bad as kiling others or threatening suicide herself time to time!

Is she mad or what? She was beating her own stomach also! Why? Why does she think her own child can't be as good as Pratap?

With that kind of attitude, even hopes of her child being a worthy successor to the throne will be lost!

I feel increasingly irritated as I watch her! She seemes so psychotic!

And the way Rana ji also keeps throwing himself at her and giving in to her so called charms is so irritating! He talks to Jaywantabai as if it is some official matter. He rarely says anything to Sajabai (I hope I got the middle Rani's name correct!). But he totally melts and is madly influenced by Bhaatiyani! How shallow!

I also dislike this queen for using sex and charms as a means to keep her husband forever wrapped around her little finger! How desperate! Sundarta aur kam nahi, gun laao apne aap mein!

Poor maid gave her good advice before consuming poison (what will people say if she dies after taking the poison in her room?) but the possessed and crazy woman did not give a damn!

I feel very bad about servants in those times. Poor maids and servants had to obey every command (no matter how crazy) of kings and queens!

This queen needs a manovygyanik soon or a solid thrashing from Rana ji!

Does she ever think how her mission will be accomplished by killing Pratap? What will she do of other two boys? They are older than her unborn child! Will she kill them also? Or does she think they don't matter because their mother has no importance in Rana ji's eyes anyway?

I am shocked at how vicious she is!

Yeah, Bhaatiyani is pretty psycho. But, despite her terrible methods, I can see where she is coming from. The other rani's really did get pushed to the side and some of them, once married+ with children, were completely sidelined, like they're showing with Sajjabhai.

On that note, I really do like how the CV's are showing the different way the wives were treated, reacted, etc. Like Jaywantabai is stoic, not showing emotion and refusing to let others know how she feels about being ignored by Udai, but at the same time, she takes pride in the fact that Udai comes to her before he's going to battle, etc. And Sajjabhai is an amazing example of a rani completely pushed to the side and her emotions, she tries to be stoic but can't help but show her despair. And then finally you have the conniving, scheming rani's like Bhaatiyani.

And back to Bhaatiyani, I actually feel kind of bad for her. Because once her beauty leaves her/ Udai forgets about her, she's basically going to end up like Sajjabhai, completely ignored. She seems like she had a terrible life growing up and once she got a taste of the good life, she doesn't want to go back. A lot of people can relate to that feeling I think (just not as crazily as her LOL). And regarding the Pratap thing, she does realize that he's a good person, and thats why she feels bad he wasn't born from her. But the fact that he isn't her's is what causes her to hate him. Its just like hating someone you admire (jealously). I think Aashka is doing a fabulous job playing her.

In actual history too, she does manage to succeed. Udai Singh actually appoints her son as his heir, but the advisors disregard that and put Pratap on the throne.

Wonderful insight my friend! Viciousness knows no bounds...in this case it is so obvious that queens could give into anything due to jeoulusy! Monygamy wasn't that charming after all...but Bhatiani Devi takes the cake in being vicious n jealous!

Yes Aashka is doing a fab job in this role!

I want to know more about Bhaatiyani's background to get a sense of why she behaves the way she does!

I hate women who use feminity, vulnerability and sex to suit their own ends. Bhaatiyani is a classic example of what destruction a woman can bring about without even wielding weapons!

As of now I do not think Rana ji sidelines her in any way. He gives her too much attention and affection, both emotionally and physically, both in front of others and privately. She seems insecure that this phase shall "pass" soon!

But her frustration is boundless so much so that she is jeopardising even the existence of the unborn child in her womb with her angry outbursts, restlessness and beating her stomach!

Sajjabai also gets treated unfairly but she doesn't behave as crazy as this woman does - even before something actually happened! She is mad about even things she "anticipates"?

She needs to be exposed and she needs HELP!

Agreed with @Skepblun and Lovely_Lady, but she is not the only one in history...
She reminds me Soyra Bai (Raja Shivaji's wife) even she hated Sambhaji (elder son) bcoz she wanted her own son Rajaram to be crowned as new Chatrapati ( means King)... she always envy Sai Bai and Sambhaji... here is the same case...

But Shivaji Maharaj was not like Uday Singh... thanks to God...

Bhatiyani seemed psycho than desperate... 😛

I hate Bhatiyani but... I really liked Aashka Goradiya performing Bhatiyani... excellent job girl 👍🏼

No offence intended towards anyone but Bhatiyani's attitude towards Pratap forces me to ask two very contentious questions -

1. Why is it so difficult for a woman to accept and love a child that is not hers biologically? Of course, there are exceptions (like Sajjabai, who has no ill feeling towards Pratap). But in majority of the cases, the first preference of a woman is to her own biological child before other children. Why so?

2. Consequently, is a mother's "unconditional love" restricted to only her own biological child? Again, the exception here being Sajjabai who loves Pratap as much as she loves Kunwar Shakti. But then, history is majorly rife with examples of one queen ill-treating the son of the other queen, simply because she wants her own biological son to be king.

I don't have children so, maybe am wrong. But, maybe a stronger emotional bond is created with a biological child vis a vis a child of a rival?

Its also economic fear...that you and your biological child will ultimately be economically disenfranchised and marginalized by the stepchild who inherits the property. We are analysing this from a modern lens...which is not reflective of the time. To us Yoshada makes sense as we appreciate adoption, but how many Indians deal with stepchildren in this age?... that too a stepchild that takes away everything from our child? Even a comparative to western culture there is faulty...as there is no polygamy and stepchildren from prior relations don't cause the complete deprivation of inheritance that is possible wherea polygamous king can only crown one prince.
