Yeah sometimes creative liberties are taken to show heroism of the main protagonist and this seems to be one of them. Afterall TRPs are important and these are one of the ways to build.

We really need to get hold of the official archives to know the truth. Even here Sher Shah or Shams Khan have not captured Chittor, it seems more of a treaty which is favouring Afghans. Chittor was in the centre of the trade route from Delhi towards the ports in Gujarat (especially Khambhat)

Chittor was captured by Akbar in 1568 after a 123 day seige. Uday Singh and his family members had evacuated before the siege and moved to Gogunda (close to modern Udaipur I think and which served as the capital). Jaimal was left in charge of the fort. A shot from Akbar injured Jaimal which broke the morale of the defenders. Women committed Jauhar the men committed saka and Chittor was captured.

Pratap was crowned king in 1572 but got time to consolidate as Akbar was busy conquering Gujarat.

it was a kind of tributary relation with sher shah and rajput of mewars!! and yeah maharana udai singh the coward rana among all rajputs!!

hey khushi just imagine if they bring rajat as akbar and jodha-akbar also brings the actor playing elder pratap here to play rana pratap???
