Seriously writers should stop playing with medecine and psychology... They must educate themselves or not deal with subjects they don't know.

As a medical student especially in this field, I didn't like what they showed about the surrogacy. If IVF failed, sanjh being the biological mother of the child is impossible.
It is easy to do research especially in such sensistive cases.

Please don't show anything in the name of entertainment.

Why is that Lecter. I dont know much about IVF. What if Saanjh's eggs are fine, but it is her womb that is having problem or some other hormonal imbalance. Forgive me if I am asking a stupid question.

Yes! Saanjh may be fertile enough to produce an egg capable of fertilization!
But. if her reproductive system & its ducts carrying the sperm into her womb have some issues like blocking or womb is not strong enough to sustain a long pregnancy, the surrogacy option is a feasible alternative, in my opinion! Those who know it better can throw more light on that!

By the way, I do see a light at the end of a dark tunnel!
A selfish Maya could have easily got her own egg fertilized in stead of Saanjh's!
A blackmailed doctor would have even co-operated to cover-it up, if Maya insisted!
Maya would have certainly created an opportunity for herself to deceive Arjun & Saanjh misleading & playing with their sentiments even as the child is growing in her womb!
She would have also earned her, a right to claim the child as hers later, thereby completing her badala wrecking Saanjh and Arjun emotionally!
But, she is not doing any of that! She is ready to carry their nishan not hers!
It is to be seen in context with her saving act of Aarohi, thanking a dead friend for helping her and even her atonement in Jail! Maya's punishment is perhaps nearing its completion!

Is she on a road of recovery, finally?!
A light that will glow for others' benefit while staying unmindful of burning itself to a finish!

@ Shruti, Fernandes, yes, it takes time like in IVF and one does not become pregnant instantly.
I am sure Lecter knows better but to my knowledge, as shruti said, your walls of the uterus might be too thin to sustain full term pregnancy and hence you go for surrogacy.

I am biased, and do not understand surrogacy at all. Is it your need to procreate or your need to love a child unconditionally?...I can go on and on ...

Anyway...I think one has to accept the child, maya in this case because they are bound legally. They signed the papers. Otherwise anyone can say after the surrogate is pregnant that they do not want the child. We were not shown Saajun reading the papers,...just signing them.

@ Black A point , I too feel so!
@ Blue Legal defence fails if there is a fraud or impersonation! Usually surrogacy is an expensive option for couple desiring a child! Also some legal complications governing such a procedure discourage many to choose as a ready option!
But Sharma couple has no such problems! They can afford it!

True...but how do you prove it is Fraud/impersonation, if the papers are in place and doctor refuses to say anything. Actually,.. the whole thing has so many loopholes...they are just rushing through things.

This show is a joke, RIP logic, RIP science RIP law

Saanjh is like a fragile leaf, fainting just because someone told her she can't conceive. I mean, when Ashwin abused Maya, she would have fainted like that

And Saanjh has depression lol
This show made a joke out of mental illness, and now what? Fam doing everything to cure Devi Saanjh depression 🤣 I thought in this soap, those who have mental illness are bad and mad, and thought Arjun has no idea about mental illness. Joke. Joke. And Duffer will maya pay for Saanjh tears, irony, hypocrisy

@fernandes Sarana has a point. When Saajun was signing the papers I was thinking they were blindly signing it trusting the doctor. What if the name on the paper is Maya Mehrotra being a surrogate mother. Legally they have accepted her as surrogate mom of their child. They cannot back of if the doctor tells she had shown them all papers and they signed it. It was their duty to read it, they didnt read it.
The most Arjun can do is send Maya to jail with the pregnancy. He can kill her, but then of course he will face law. Sending her to jail with pregnancy is an option he can take as the baby can be born there. But then it wont look good in front of the world. As it is not Maya's baby, it is Saanjh's baby. A woman is carrying your child and you send her to jail. Of course people will tell have some mercy, that's how society will talk. Maya is carrying Saanjh's child. To the husband who left her and to the so called friend who married him she is gifting parenthood and you keep her in jail. So if Arjun doesnt care about what society tells he can send Maya to jail based on her past. Or keep her choosing the present for the baby. Choice is between past and present.

@Sarana I had put in another thread. I had watched a documentory in Discovery Channel on how Surrogacy is used to exploit rural women in India. Where norms are flouted and these women are forced to become mothers once in 2 years. The family including husband lives on the income generated by womb selling. Sometimes when these ladies can no longer conceive due to multiple procedures and their health is weak they are thrown out and husband marries again to continue the baby making business. The industry is pegged at some 15-20 crore annually. In Saajun case actually they had gone for it legally. They wanted to respect the woman who is going to give them joy. But in many cases it is not the case. Parents just pay some money to the clinics running this business and take the baby. Health of surrogate mother is neglected.
The difference of surrogacy and adoption is the people's need to have a child of their blood. In adoption child is not blood related and in our society somewhere it is still a taboo to go for it. But yes it is slowly changing. I have a relative who have adopted a baby girl when she was 7 yrs and now she is studying in 10th and have adapted to our culture quite well and now no outsiders feel she is someone different or not part of our family.

Yes, I have also seen that documentry on Discovery..:(...and I have very close friends and family members who have had p roblems, gone through ivf's and later adopted. Let's say I understand the psychology of the parents who have actually gone through this ordeal of not being able to conceive and have experienced the pain. I know 3 girls and 2 boys in different families...all doing very well and no one can say that they are adopted...age ranges from 1 yr to 14..:)...
And I believe between nature vs nurture...nurture always wins. Be it in rkc or adoption.

There was a scene in the show which goes something like this!
Doctor says she is very happy that they took the decision finally and their child will grow in another woman's womb. Arjun asks if they can meet that woman. Woman enters cabin and greets them. Doctor says this is Mridula, surrogate mother. She asks to sign consent form and praises Saanjh that she took a major decision even after so much happened and jokes with Arjun that he has to handle 2 women now. Arjun says he is prepared for it. Doc keeps documents into drawer and goes out!
Is the newly successful business tycoon featuring in front pages of leading Magazines going to get conned so tamely by a chicken-hearted doctor who is succumbing to a black mail, fearing her own safety & family members?
What if Arjun threatens her back to extract the truth from her mouth?
Did Arjun ask the Doc -Can they meet the woman?
Does it mean, Arjun & Co has no idea about background of the prospective Surrogate Mother?
So, does it mean it was entirely the responsibility of Doctor to choose & arrange such a person?
That is very interesting and also very important legal point!
Maya Mehrotra is not any ordinary woman on the road, one gets to meet!
She is either presumed to be a dead woman if the police had already given up the chase!
Or, she is a fugitive, escaped from the prison evading her jail sentence!
Maya is not a free person to sign contracts at will , without concerned Jail authorities coming into picture! If the Doctor gets grilled by police how come she agreed to perform the medical procedure on her, then she would have no other option but to sing the truth!
The Doctor along with Maya will end in soup!
Maya's only hope is that Duffer will not send her to Jail!
But no such mercy for the doctor, if she chooses to co-operate with Maya even after Arjun gets angry at these developments! Doctor will be forced to toe in line with Arjun & co to save herself and job as well!
