Yes! Saanjh may be fertile enough to produce an egg capable of fertilization!Originally posted by: shruthiravi
Why is that Lecter. I dont know much about IVF. What if Saanjh's eggs are fine, but it is her womb that is having problem or some other hormonal imbalance. Forgive me if I am asking a stupid question.

@ Shruti, Fernandes, yes, it takes time like in IVF and one does not become pregnant instantly.
I am sure Lecter knows better but to my knowledge, as shruti said, your walls of the uterus might be too thin to sustain full term pregnancy and hence you go for surrogacy.I am biased, and do not understand surrogacy at all. Is it your need to procreate or your need to love a child unconditionally?...I can go on and on ...Anyway...I think one has to accept the child, maya in this case because they are bound legally. They signed the papers. Otherwise anyone can say after the surrogate is pregnant that they do not want the child. We were not shown Saajun reading the papers,...just signing them.

@ Blue Legal defence fails if there is a fraud or impersonation! Usually surrogacy is an expensive option for couple desiring a child! Also some legal complications governing such a procedure discourage many to choose as a ready option!
But Sharma couple has no such problems! They can afford it!
There was a scene in the show which goes something like this!Originally posted by: shruthiravi
@fernandes Sarana has a point. When Saajun was signing the papers I was thinking they were blindly signing it trusting the doctor. What if the name on the paper is Maya Mehrotra being a surrogate mother. Legally they have accepted her as surrogate mom of their child. They cannot back of if the doctor tells she had shown them all papers and they signed it. It was their duty to read it, they didnt read it.
The most Arjun can do is send Maya to jail with the pregnancy. He can kill her, but then of course he will face law. Sending her to jail with pregnancy is an option he can take as the baby can be born there. But then it wont look good in front of the world. As it is not Maya's baby, it is Saanjh's baby. A woman is carrying your child and you send her to jail. Of course people will tell have some mercy, that's how society will talk. Maya is carrying Saanjh's child. To the husband who left her and to the so called friend who married him she is gifting parenthood and you keep her in jail. So if Arjun doesnt care about what society tells he can send Maya to jail based on her past. Or keep her choosing the present for the baby. Choice is between past and present.@Sarana I had put in another thread. I had watched a documentory in Discovery Channel on how Surrogacy is used to exploit rural women in India. Where norms are flouted and these women are forced to become mothers once in 2 years. The family including husband lives on the income generated by womb selling. Sometimes when these ladies can no longer conceive due to multiple procedures and their health is weak they are thrown out and husband marries again to continue the baby making business. The industry is pegged at some 15-20 crore annually. In Saajun case actually they had gone for it legally. They wanted to respect the woman who is going to give them joy. But in many cases it is not the case. Parents just pay some money to the clinics running this business and take the baby. Health of surrogate mother is neglected. The difference of surrogacy and adoption is the people's need to have a child of their blood. In adoption child is not blood related and in our society somewhere it is still a taboo to go for it. But yes it is slowly changing. I have a relative who have adopted a baby girl when she was 7 yrs and now she is studying in 10th and have adapted to our culture quite well and now no outsiders feel she is someone different or not part of our family.
