Okay, so I have always said that I am not an objective viewer of the show...but I try to be. I keep changing sides depending on who entertains me. I have loved Maya's character mostly a courtesy to the brilliant portrayal by Jennifer Winget. I love Maya...find her intriguing but I also want her to be punished for her crimes, provided its shown in a good way. I mean someone defeats her with cunning and style as a villain/anti-heroine like her deserves.
I have never been a fan of Saanj and her overconfidence...so imagine my surprise when I felt so much sympathy for her in tonight's episode. 😭
Her grief was so raw. The loss of her father destroyed her. For the first time, I felt sad for her and for the first time I wish she had the capability to defeat Maya. I have always found Saanj irritating (because she talks a big game but doesn't have the substance to back it up) and hyper and over-the-top. But her grief in the past few days have been overwhelming. Her father, an innocent man died and I can see why Saanj would blame herself. Prem, a good man and frankly the only character that never got on my nerve, is killed because of Maya.😭 Samay is the gun but Maya is the shooter. Saanj is devastated. Her devastation even compelled Samay to finally break out of his Maya-ka-maya.👏 Samay for the first time feels guilty enough to consider defying Maya to the point where he doesn't even mind confessing his own crimes. I really liked the turn-about. I don't know why but it seems realistic, especially because of the pained look in Samay's face when he sees Saanj losing her mind. Piyush is always awesome with his expression and I found Aneri's emotional acting good too (even though I don't like her acting majority of the time). I was very impressed.
The past few weeks have been boring for me, to be honest. But, I really liked this episode. Seeing the change in Samay is also nice. Because if anyone can outwit Maya in the long run, I believe it's only Samay. Samay is cunning and manipulative, and if he chooses to get on the right path, I think he is a worthy opponent to bring Maya down.
I hope we get more episodes like this. Also hoping Samay is not going to be Maya's puppet anymore. He could do so much better.
PS: I don't ship anyone with anyone anymore. I hope they all end up alone.😆
