i read jennifers latest article and this is what she said regarding her show Beyhadh:
I am currently enjoying playing the unpredictable role of a no-nonsense boss lady Maya Mehrotra on Sony's prime time show Beyhadh. She us one of the most challenging characters scripted in the history of television that audiences have still grown to side and love. A lot has gone down as homework and research for this character and there is a fair bit of learning and unlearning that happens on the set everyday. Beyhadh with its strong script was hard to turn down and plus I was due for a shake up. Not all risks are bad for us and I'm glad I took this one. However, I don't think calling her character negative is really doing it justice. She has her shades of grey as an obsessive lover with an undying passion for everything in life; be it her career or love.
It's been a rollercoaster ride of emotions since day one. With Maya, you can never know what to expect. She isn't predictable and that's also what draws you to her. I make it a point to get to the sets every day with a clear head, but come back home all heavy and intense on some days.
It's a constant process of learning and unlearning with this character, and to have that at this point in my career is an absolutely enriching experience.
The part in Bold is what stands out, she pointed out calling maya negative is not doing it justice, Jen did admit Maya is grey but she has said many times and even in this article her character is not negative.
if her character was negative then i personally feel Maya is capable of killing. Also Beyhadh is a finite series so jennifer is aware of how the story will end and what maya is capable of doing, so i put my trust in jennifer in what she says regarding her character.
Yes i agree Jen can be biased as she is playing the role of Maya, but i agree maya is grey but not negative. cv's want to indoctrinate viewers that maya is bad and evil, and yes she has her flaws but lets see how the shows proceeds.
