@selly Maya was weakened the moment Arjun's name was wiped of from her hand and people called it apashagun. Look at from a mental perspective. She is a girl who is thinking everything is going fine for her. Then comes this funda and what follows is so many bizzare things which ended with Ashwin's death in that hawan kundh. She is broken. That glass was the final straw .
It is easy to say Pundits and all, but how do you feel when you are constantly bombarded with negative things about yourself. When someone sees only negative things about you. Especially if that person is someone whom you want your acceptance.
As a person who was independant before marriage, a person who had tried to be accomodating for everyone post marriage and finally knowing people need to accept you for what you are I can understand Maya. She has to travel this path to know only your real self will get acceptance and you need to accept your real self for whatever that is. It is not external approval you need, it is your approval.
I have never found Maya really strong, she is very weak emotionally craving for acceptance. Craving for love.
Strength of Maya is just Maya or perception. And I want strong Maya, where she knows what she is and accepts her true self with all good and bad in it. Because if that happens then you dont need external acceptance.
Where does confidence of Saanjh comes from. She is accepted for what she is by majority. Except Arjun. Reason in Maya Arjun sees a abla nari, while in Saanjh he sees a headstrong intelligent girl. And that is the truth. That's why Arjun is Maya's Arjun Sharma and Saanjh's duffer. Maya pleases his ego, while Saanjh challenges his ego.
Saanjh needs a man who can handle an intelligent headstrong lady knowing what she is capable of and giving her credit publicly. Ayan fits that bill for me.
If you need to see this you have to see it when Saanjh falls. The strength with which she will stand up from the fall.
Maya looks strong from outside, fragile inside. Saanjh may look fragile outside, but she carries the real strength inside and it will be evident when situation comes.
That's why I have never hated Saanjh, but only some of her actions because I know this girl is the key who is going to teach Maya what strength means.
