I'd been meaning to make a post on the Maha episode but got tied up over the weekend.

My foremost question is: Why did the makers promote the ArYa wedding as a whodunit/murder mystery while the whole episode was dedicated to how Saanjh goaded Maya into turning up to the mandap while Ashwin's death was shifted to the periphery? Why was there no sign of Saanjh in the promo? The whole focus was on Maya, her screen presence is arresting so much so that you don't even see the inferno let alone Arjun.

Having said all that, why do I feel the makers are messing with Maya more and more? Why can't they show her to be a smooth negotiator (she's a CEO of s flourishing fashion firm after all) especially when she's been shown to be capable of doing so? Why couldn't they show her confronting Vandana and make a convincing case for herself or even try to get into her good books?

I have observed their promos are always misleading, creating so much hype but in actual episodes they fail.Don't go by their promo promises.

Promos are misleading at times. So we shouldnt expect it to be accurate. Besides the show has many twist still unsolved. I think the writers had a reason to do what they did. We can only hope an wait. Lastly, when has an indian wedding in a show ever goes smoothly or the couple have the whole screen to themselves lol.

Ashwin's death was advertised as the major event unfolding at the wedding not the Saanjh drama.

The general audience doesn't follow these spoiler segments so they wouldn't have anticipated Saanjh's involvement during the wedding. A major chunk of the episode went into showing symbolism which we already know. The makers don't have to show her duppatta getting stuck in between the gadbandhan to indicate how she's always going to be a constant in ArYa's lives. Aren't we all aware of it by now?

To your question, the answer is simple - promotion. The only reason Sony TV promoted the ArYa wedding the way they did is simply to attract viewers and captivate them as Maya can do that. On the other hand, Maya had one dialogue in the entire episode and it focused mainly on Saanjh.
Maya could really not get in Vandana's good books at that moment, she did, after all, drag Arjun off the mandap. I wonder how the Maya-Vandana relation will develop in the future.
