As I've already said in shruthi's thread, there is nothing wrong with bachelor parties but I'm not a fan of the ones involving endless drinks and girls. if my fiance was indulging in such things before our wedding, I would not like it because a marriage and its boundaries should be respected from the time a commitment is made. several assumptions can be made about arjun's words, but to me it sounded like conditional love and that arjun knows he is way below maya in terms of socioeconomic status. as we all know, he has a massive ego and he won't like being below his wife or being controlled by her regardless of what maya's intentions are. saanjh and vandana are two women who put up with him but I don't think maya is one them, and arjun knows that.

@TM, wonderful post . I'm happy the way you explained vandana's perspective. A mother is always a mother who wants the best for her children, si it's obvious that she is sceptical about accepting Maya after what the pandiyan said.

Coming to the bachelor's party, any woman would be insecure to see their man partying with other women. even a man would do the same if he gets the doubt on his woman. A person in drunk state can never lie. So we have to wait & see what happens next.

I'm quite capable of understanding/analysing/studying a character on its own without having the need to compare him/her with other characters to prove a point. At least, I try as much as I can to treat every character individually avoiding to pit them against each other at the drop of the hat.

If others feel the need to bring in Saanjh while discussing Maya or vice versa then it's just their way of studying someone on a purely comparative basis. It's NOT about having a certain kind of mindset.

Some people are pretty cool with bachelor parties, be it for men or women and some aren't. A drunk person can never lie. Oh, is that scientifically proven? Is there an evidence to prove that? In my opinion, it is merely a notion popularised by movies/shows. šŸ˜†

Nobody is comparing Saanjh & Maya. It is only in the show that Vandana compares and people talk about that.

I wont touch Maya or Vandana as you have already read my post and views on them. Coming to Arjun you have bought an interesting point. Fear. Does he fear Maya. Is it to ward off the fear he told the dialogues he told. Maya's remote is in his hands, he wants to believe that whereas he knows it is not like that.

He wants to prove in every step he is not in Maya's control. Even in her presence he can do what she doesnt like knowing fully well she wont like it and she can be angry at him too for that. See Maya's or for that matter any wife's anger on her hubby partying with half naked girls or drinking too much is justified. But a man expects a wife to tolerate all such snobbish behaviour of them. Why. Because they are men. They will do as they please right or wrong.
If you look so far whether it is Vandana or whether it is Saanjh they have allowed this man to be what he is. Vandana to get his acceptance has moved heaven and earth.
Saanjh has been over protective. Whatever he does she gets angry but then immediately goes to solve his problem. She is there at his beck and call and do his things. It is for the first time this girl is standing mute without talking to him and he calls it her ego. He doesnt realize what he spoke to Saanjh in Maya's room in front of Maya was terrible, too terrible.

So whatever this guy does so far the woman in his life has supported with chalta hai attitude. Now Maya is not going to do that. She will pull him up if he decides to cheat her or misbehave with her. Arjun's subconscious knows this and he is suddenly wary of this. Someone is going to watch him and may not bend to him the way Vandana and Saanjh does. How will he bring this woman in his control or rather the realization that he needs to bring this woman under control so that he can do whatever he wants.

It need not be money always, but the disrespect behaviour also. Just like Jhanvi goes Ashwin Ashwin he wants Maya to be emotionally dependant on him.

In a way I am happy Ashwin is dying. Whatever is Maya's secret that is secondary. But the person with whom Arjun can manipulate Maya 's vulnerability is no longer there.

Answering you both together as your points are the same, more or less. You two clearly seem to have misread my words. I have said in my replies too that I personally do not like the concept of bachelor parties either. But since its a common fad both in real life and in fictional world, I kept aside my own dislike for it.

We don't know for certain whether or not Maya was actually present at the party or was it purely Arjun's hallucination. So, we can't be certain if Maya would be okay with it. In any case, I could clearly sense a certain sense of fear taking over Arjun. He didn't picture a cute sulky jealous Maya running behind him with a belan. šŸ˜† He pictured a Maya whose expressions and mannerisms he couldn't himself decipher. He wasn't sure if Maya would be okay with what he's doing and that calls for a major lack of trust issue which would probably arise more strikingly and clearly for every one to see. And thus out of the same fear that Maya could have an upper hand in their relationship, Arjun felt the need to brag to Ayan and his friends under the influence of alcohol. To me, it didn't seem like a woman who is all set to discipline her man for his own betterment, Maya looked like a woman who would ensure that her man remains under her leash.

As for Arjun's lack of respect for women and coming across as an elitist and male chauvinist kind of a man, he generally does seem to respect women but has an overwhelming huge personality trait to take the women in his own life for granted thereby undermining their importance and respect. He does have a HUGE bloated ego though and has behaved and still does like a complete ass many a times.

@bold - I'll prefer to stick to my own observation instead of taking your word on this, sorry. Just because Vandana does, no one is forced to do the same as she does. šŸ˜†

I respect your observations. Whatever you observe you can say and what others observe from the show, they are saying it. 😊

Thank you! I get that she tends to go overboard at times but the way she's trashed and torn apart at the main forum, I take pity to her. She has her reasons to be scared and her concerns/insecurities do have valid basis.

don't u feel @anni arjun overdid to impress his frns ? people in pub , his frns n even ayan was shocked. this will be used as evidence in future i felt. i mean ok u r irked by teasing . till he said i am the ceo , i controll maya ,maya is crazy for him it was ok. but than when he advised his bro " patao amir ladki n acquire her position " it gave negative vibe . it was not required to impress his frns. even if it is joke it reflects his mentality. if his frned had joked /taunted him n he had agreed jokingly also i wouldn't have criticised him. but this thought came in his mind when his frns/bro also never thought their relationship in that sense.
