Or create a situation where either he is taken to jail for torturing her or taken to mental hospital for such behaviour.

Now she has power she should use it against ashwin.

Sure, Maya has the power to do that but as she said in the last episode she cannot see her mother in pain, but she is incapable of giving her the medicine to this pain. If she ever considered putting Ashwin behind bars (which I'm sure would have crossed her mind at some point of time), her mother would indirectly suffer a lot. We see that although Janvi does know Ashwin's real character, a few words from him are enough to make her do anything. Janvi still loves Ashwin regardless of his personality or purpose. Maya feels she has given her mother enough pain by the million restrictions imposed upon her for her own good that putting Ashwin beyond bars would hurt her mother even more.
