Agreed, even mayas family doesn't know abt this EMA thing with mj, why Maya didn't tell them about this why why? Even after nandhini warning her about mj, she still fell in his trap,Maya is equaly at fault for having affair with mj a married women.
Completely agree, we only knows abt Maya side, what about Mj n his side story hope we get more of Mj side as well,
MJ is as old as her father. MJ is a serial predator who uses women and ditches them when his ego gets bruised. Stop blaming the victim Manvi for the so called affair.

He doesn't use or force manvi, manvi got intimate with him on her own will one can't deny that, its not like mj forced her agree mj trapped her played with her abused her n ditched ever am not at all denying it nor justifying it Maya is at fault for having affair with married men
So many replies
I just want to say that it doesn't butcher Maya's character for me because if someone can kill an innocent then cheating is not a big crime, just because Rishi was MJ's son doesn't mean he was in anyway involved in what happened with Maya but people do justify this murder which for me and law is bigger crime than cheating

Lol not this rant again...listen. Manvi was a kid who got played by an older uncle. The power imbalance is huge in cases like these. Stop saying married man ad nauseam and try to understand the nuances of this situation. Manvi is the victim. Period.
I'd blame Manvi if she had really played Vikram just to get his surname and money. THAT would butcher her character but so far, all of her actions right from falling prey to creeper MJ and killing Rishi can be totally understandable.

MJ had killed her father and brother who were innocent. Wiping off the Roy clan was a part of her revenge and while killing Rishi can not be justified, it can be understandable. Maya Mehrotra committed far worse crimes. If someone had seduced and abused me and destroyed my entire family, I would want to do the same to my tormentor and his family.
Yes it is character butchering. Obliterating the Roy clan comes under her quest for revenge. Rishi was ill fated to be her tormentor's son so he would have anyway died even if Maya's modus operendi was different. She was not going to spare anyone from the Roy family. This Vikram is a new addition to the story. They had shown little Manvi reading the Gita and worshipping Lord Krishna in the flashbacks. Moreover Manvi was a topper student in literature. She was practically shown to be an autodidact whose thirst for revenge served as a motivator in itself. She became a best selling author (with a pseudonym) all by herself. But suddenly they are trying to show she needed this new creep's surname and his riches? How ridiculous is that? It waters down the credibility of the character to a large extent.
Agreed so far. It's unfortunate Rishi died. @Bold italics: I think we need to be a bit patient, Vikram seems a psychopath as well, the way he hurt himself with knife, trapped his mom and is obsessed with Manvi. Who knows if he is telling a story too to himself and believing in it. It's just two episodes, and the track looks promising.

Let wait for cvs to solve this mystery.

Why do you compare Maya with MJ? If Maya is going to do what MJ did then why should I support or root for Maya? Maya is not thinking rationally, I do not expect Maya to think rationally when she was tormented, abused and thrown to die but we as audience can tell the difference between right and wrong, isn't it? Maya killing Roys for something which MJ did is her motive, it's not right and as a viewer I can clearly see how in her quest to get justice she has embodied what MJ was, his ideology, his lines, his words etc
Like you have said it is not justified but understandable, similarly one can dissect and try to understand why MJ did what he did, everything is understandable but people don't get leeway for being understandable
I understand why Maya killed Rishi but I don't understand why she cheated on Vikram, the reason is same for both, she is driven by revenge, she didn't kill Antara, Diya who were involved in her ruination but an innocent Rishi died, this is lopsided and the next twist doesn't butcher Maya for me as I don't put her on the pedestal of righteousness, if one can kill then cheating is not a big deal

MJ is wired that way. He is cruel by birth. Do you think just because a girl refused your advances, you go ahead and destroy her and her family? MJ is the personification of toxic masculinity and misogyny. Period. Maya wanting to destroy him and his family is COMPLETELY justified.
What I have a problem with is Maya using innocent people like Vikram (IF he is innocent, that is) who are no way connected to the Roys in her quest for revenge. That's all
